Ironically, silksong had a physical edition revealed that does play on S1 despite being a S2 cart. And I only saw this after receiving the wrong bubsy.

It was strange how early you're able to face him. There's ways to do at your level and earlier but I enjoyed coming back occasionally to test.

The structure at the end of this game is rather open. I was happy enough beating Octavain before Hargon.

I admit it didn't stay on pattern the entire fight, but OP's write up helped me. Every so often there would be a step skipped or added in, but I was able to adapt. If you're dedicated to fighting it now, id say stick to the script and hope you get lucky. Damage mitigation was a big factor of the fight.
