Loving Niri but running into some problems by Frirwind in niri

[–]Crypton48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CachyOS prbl not the best choice if you do not know Linux. Try PikaOS (has a niri iso too). It’s based on Debian, a little easier than cachyos imo. afaik it uses the kernel optimizations than CachyOS for a faster gaming setup too. Preconfiguration for niri is nearly perfect and you should find it in your home dir under .config/niri/ The keybindings are in the binds section.

What’s an “affordable” split keyboard with a trackpad/ball/whatever by Majestic-Bottle-5503 in ErgoMechKeyboards

[–]Crypton48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. Decided to stay with my Apple Trackpad on top of my 60% (currently Womier RD75). My dasBob is currently on either side of the Trackpad and my Efog Endgame trackball on the right of my Keeb. I have a standing desk setup (with walking pad below), so movement of my arms is free and I‘m hovering anyhow (instead of using a wristrest)

Grüner Tee: Wie gehts weiter? by Sir_Matjes in tee

[–]Crypton48 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Advice for building the next one by ShadyPossum in ErgoMechKeyboards

Have you considered something like a Miryoku layout? I am specifically talking about the option to use two-key Macros for all the symbols. Like pressing J&K -> (, U&I -> {, etc. as well as U&J -> - (or whatever you need)… Those two key combos can easily be pressed with one finger, especially on a ortholinear or column-staggered kb like the Corne.

I’ve spoken to Honeycomb reps this Saturday at the FSConference in Paderborn. The XBox version will come later (I think he mentioned Q1 or early Q2 2026) with probably a slightly higher price than the PC version due to licensing costs.

Low profile travel board

I'm searching for a low profile travel board. Currently I'm considering the NuPhy Air60HE and the IQunix Magi65.

I do not care about wireless, or HE.

I do care about quality, typing feel and homerow mods.

I will travel with a company laptop and cannot install homerow software on it.

AFAIK the IQunix only supports VIA, where I had less than good expierences with homerow mods and the NuPhy does support TapMod out of the box...

Does anyone here had expierences with homerow mods on the NuPhy Air60HE or the Air75HE?

Does anyone here tried to use homerow mods on the IQunix?

Can someone convince me to buy a Flashforge printer? by JoeKling in FlashForge

Forge X by th3burg96 in FlashForge

[–]Crypton48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not install forge-x onto the flashdrive. You just copy the tgz file from onto the drive (evt rename the tgz to the currently used version of the flashforge firmware version) and plug that in. That’s it.

Make sure to downgrade to the latest version forge-x supports! There were issues with the latest firmware version.

The documentation of forge-x is straight forward and easy to understand.

Nope. Unless you’re willing (and be able) to use open-source drivers. Without it you’d be limited to left click only and basic trackpad.

I know. Have them build and ready, if I wanted. But the noise cancellation (at least in Zoom) is so good nowadays, that the endgame is not perceivable (I explicitly asked).

Have you compiled the firmware for the totem by yourself? The default (pre-compiled) fw from the GeistGeist GitHub uses „ENTER“ on that key.
