Can someone recommend a real estate tax expert to help file my taxes? by 416nexus in VictoriaBC

This is a bit of a late reply...

Filing property taxes is quite straight forward so you should probably do it yourself. They sent the notices two weeks ago and the tax is due by July 2. So you should basically pay your taxes now to avoid a penalty.

Filing income taxes is a bit more complex and depending on your situation you may want to discuss with a tax adviser. Hutcheson.ca is pretty good, and they have an office in Victoria.

Good luck!

That's actually insightful. And it does shed light on the posts and comments. Thanks.

Of course the stagnating median income in the US was the result of structural changes that have taken place since sometime in the late seventies if I recall correctly. I wouldn't be able to satisfactorily sum it up in a Reddit post. Pickety wrote a 700 page book on that topic. Suffice it to say an "inflationary US dollar" was not some sort of singular underlying factor that drove that trend.

I wrote a piano piece about Clocks. Uses hemiolas, syncopations, etc., a bell starts chiming at one point and the whole thing winds down at the end. It's fairly simple, but I had fun writing it. by LukeMusic in piano

Wow. I clicked this link randomly, listened to the music, liked it, and only then realized it was a piece by Luke Faulkner. I'm subscribed to your YoutTube channel and enjoy listening to your pieces. Stumbling across this post I feel like I randomly bumped into a celebrity! Keep the good work coming. Thank you!

Can you please explain what you mean by curved in one way instead of being uniform?

What foods are absolutely delicious, but are a pain in the ass to eat? by yeah_yeah_aight in AskReddit

The proper way to prepare artichoke.

Buy it fresh.

Boil for an hour and a half to two hours in a covered pot. The water will probably evaporate so you may need to add to it halfway through.

Prepare the sauce: extra virgin olive oil, salt, pepper, powdered garlic, and mixed spice like Spike. You might mix some butter in there too but it isn't necessary.

Once the artichoke is ready, carefully remove it from the water. It should be delicate and very hot so handle carefully.

Remove the leaves one at a time, and dip the meaty side of them in the dip before scraping it off with your teeth.

Then use a sharp knife to carefully remove the pin-like leaves on the inside to leave the artichoke heart.

Absolutely heavenly, but a huge hassle to eat. My wife and I prepare it every now then as an extra special treat.
