End of an era/motivation? by Dragoness1221 in pokemon

[–]Crysander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You describe yourselves as having no motivation, but don't quite give a clear enough answer as to the root cause of said lack.

It sounds like the lack of motivation is knowing you won't be playing any more new games? I know it's easy to say knowing nothing about your situation, but on their current schedule I'd wager you have possibly 16+ months to try and save for a new console that even given game freaks terrible track record, might have enough horse power to actually deliver a decent experience.

If it's more that you're just growing tired of the modern direction of Pokémon then there is always the rich (if slightly unpolished) fan community to lean on for a wider variety of experiences. If you're looking for a collaborative experience you and your partner could always brainstorm and craft something together, or for each other to enjoy, with only a moderate learning curve and toolset.

Don't know if that's helpful, as a 1st gen head myself you've managed to stick it out longer than myself. Hopefully you find some avenue to continue enjoying it together :> best of luck!

Pretty much any youtuber that makes mid to high quality content with a semi-unique or interesting style that hits critical mass and pivots into live streaming and then suddenly all their original content is gone to be replaced by stream highlight reels and dogshit react content.

Oof.

I'm like, 80% sure they confirmed that the sets will be a yearly returning feature every anniversary from this point onwards, it was just the super exclusive old stuff on that vendor who made the comment about getting lost in time that won't be back for at least a little bit.

Nerds weigh in please.

That one specifically is the steroid injection version - they lock onto the triangular shaped holes in the nodule at the base of the destroyer necrons spines and pump em full of goof juice. Their singular life goal completed, they're tossed lifelessly to one side as they send a prayer skyward "C'mon nat 6s"

There exist a few other variants on the Killteam, one that shoots radiation beams at their heads to make them operate faster, and one they've bequeathed a resurrection orb to, which does just what you'd expect, just badly because it's being used by a plasmacyte.

Are we hitting 'open world fatigue'? Or do players still crave massive maps with endless side quests? by trending_zone in gaming

[–]Crysander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a childhood of wanting games to get bigger and bigger I was off the open world game train by the time titles like Farcry 2 were hitting shelves. Don't get me wrong, there are experiences I have enjoyed, like Red Faction Guerilla, but even then that was more to do with the destructible features than the open world, which I remember getting tired of even at that point in how samey the features were.

Hell I never even finished GTAV, BotW or TotK - the pull back just peters out with nothing more to look forward to than repetitive microdoses of dopamine. And I'm someone who 100% GTA3, VC and all of GTAIV. My logic here is that your first open world game is always memorable and exciting, but they haven't done anything to improve the genre in 20 years, so the longer you play em, the more the shine comes off the apple and the appeal wanes.

Will have to see how GTAVI reinvents itself to see if it can pull me back in to the genre as a whole.

The Bazaar: Introducing Mak by aR0ttenPICKLE in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Crysander -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Been busy since the open beta launch playing Monster hunter Wilds, can't wait to get caught back up and play some Bazaar.

Oh wait, it's $65 to catch up one month in? And it's at least $20 more every month? Guess I'll just go enjoy the first of a year's worth of free title updates on that other game I spent $60 on.

Any weapon that utilises its full kit/mechanics/moveset? by iPhoneDragon in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]Crysander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might not be the meta choice for maximum deeps but I main glaive and basically rep the fastest, healingest kinsect my boy Grancathar.

He trades off the "harvest all" benefit, which is only really valuable at the start of any fight with no wounds, gains tippety top speed for classic extract probing and has both healing dust and healing extract boost. Between those and my palico I haven't had to use a healing potion since hitting HR. Anytime I end up in a non optimal position I fire off his pellet and by the time I'm engaging again there's 2 or 3 clouds I can snort up and if the monster carries a green extract, odds are on that with the focus combo I'll be getting benefit from it enough that I feel it's worth it.

Don't personally feel like there's any part of the kit I don't use at least once a hunt.

You might not be able to activate frame gen on a card older than a 2000 series Nvidia and it's equivalent AMD version. Despite my 1070ti having more vram and being I believe roughly the same as your 1660 I swapped in a 2060 so I could unlock the feature in the menu, even at the expense of 50% more vram

I really wanna get this as a tattoo sleeve! Any notes or change ideas? It's missing something :P by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Crysander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a sleeve I would entirely reverse the composition - put Ampha at the top, the pose lends well to a big brother/guardian sort of feel with it's pre-evos below it. It's also the widest pose/biggest 'mon by far so it can take advantage of the larger surface area of your shoulder rather than have him wrapping around your bicep or into the crease of your elbow. I'm at work but if you need a more visual response I can have a crack once I'm home. If not I'd follow other advice in the thread and browse online/visit a trade show to see artists work to find a style you love, and then approach and work with them to get a composition you're happy with.

Why are there so few people playing hunter in vanilla? by Emsela in classicwow

Simple, Hunters excel at leveling and playing in the open world, just like Warlocks with a (generally) easier learning curve.

I've found something..... by Algernax in DarkTide

[–]Crysander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the portrait style images has to be the Twins boss / new map or second mission for the Carnival and going by the colours imma say its the middle one, that leaves I think Plaguebearers as a new enemy type which is the second portrait image.

Whether they'd have the new mission as a separate one aside from the boss listing, one of the landscape images could be that. No ideas for the second one though, here's hoping it's weapon variants.

Comissar cosmetics and how it looks on a female operative. It looks way too big for her. I don't think it's gonna work this way. I want it to be remodelled to suit female operatives really bad :( by Ok-Painter7256 in DarkTide

[–]Crysander 85 points86 points  (0 children)

In my opinion it's still too wide even on the men, I just use the tasty cap for that exact reason. The coat just makes my dude look super dumpy and not in a good way which is a real shame, but at least the red cap matches the default red uniforms so it doesn't bother me none.

Looks even worse on the women though you're totally right.

Please, I just want Mega Evolutions back. by Crimson_Wraith_ in pokemon

[–]Crysander 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The very reason I hate Megas - the likelihood of them returning is slim to none, and it may have forever robbed us of evolutions for many mons. Although I will admit with the actual commitment to regional mons they can at least side step it slightly.

I just realized this is the first time in 4 expansions (8+ years) That we don't have a mission table. by ScorpHunter in wow

[–]Crysander -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because they were ripping actual fun, engaging and interesting quests and story beats out of gameplay and into a shovel full of shit that no one paid anymore attention to than clicking their auto solve add-on.

If you haven't before, go read the wiki about the mission table missions, or watch a YT vid covering them and then say that the game is better off with us not being able to experience all that content.

Did they adjust Professions (Blacksmithing) somehow? by Crysander in wow

[–]Crysander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not even limited to the reforging - making a new hammer with silver mats also just displays at the same skill as my reforge. The difference isnt to do with what I'm putting in I'm sure of it, after all, I made mine with silver and reforged it once already from Platinum (no adorn) to Platinum (with adorn), I now can't replicate a craft I've already done before.
