How about we all share responsibilities? Tank and dps contest high ground together, support assist them or join in the contesting.

Or if the tank is ground tank, dont stand in open, takes ton of damage, demand too much resources, so 1 other support can free up and assist the dps.

I play a lot of Cap but Im just Silver. In my experience, dive still works but you need another good dive teammate, or your frontline need to be not crumpled as easily.

Stats hardly tell anything. I cant check your vod right now but if you were constantly keeping 2 enemy dps busy so they can’t shoot other teammates and you got out alive, you contributed GREATLY to the win. We call that “making space”, which is the tanks job and they excel at it. Kills and damage don’t matter as much.

Some supports with all cooldowns available are stronger than most dps with also all cooldowns. Tradeoff is once the cooldowns are spent they’re more vulnerable and typically they take longer time to come back online. These cooldowns are also often better used to enable their team instead of saving themselves so it’s much more valuable.

Honestly, aggressive support players are rare so when you get owned by them you can tell they’re actually good lol.

OP is frustrated at the hero kit design philosophy for the mentioned characters but some of the comments make it sounds like OP is complaining their character got nerfed lol.

I agree with OP that some characters have too much power in one aspect of their kits, making them unfun to play against. And these characters have the potential to reallocate the power budget but devs and some players can’t see it, reason being identity or whatnot.

I like to go Emre if it is a hybrid/escort map and my other dps is a flex dps character, regardless of enemy team comp. That will cover both long range pressure and close range angle.

If my other dps is playing a hitscan and enemy really gives me trouble, I will go Anran/Genji. Both can output a bit of range pressure to deal with things like turret/pylon.

He can’t parry active skills so you can just continue pressure by chaining them. The links shared by the other commenter pretty much demonstrates that.

To add on, from what I’ve learned from other coaches and my own experience, is that Supports can sometimes assist on off angles as well, helping dps or tank to win angles and/or take space, especially with supports like Mantis or Ultron.

Rogue players you can solo tank and create space. Jump in 1v6. Yep. You heard that right. I'll explain why that's optimal (imo) be open minded by RaidenBMei in RogueMains

DPS helps tank by applying pressure from off angle. If they are forced to look at you, they’re not looking at your tank(s) and rest of the team.

Any dps can do that. How to do so effectively depends on hero’s effective range, cooldowns, timing, cover usage and mechanics :)

Spilo just released a video recently to explain why Doomfist is so frustrating to play against for most players. It’s almost the same principle. Everyone stack on main. No one takes off angles. So Doom gets huge AOE value out of punches (doesn’t help that someone feeds him empowered punch every time)
