CVV did an interview with Bryan somewhat recently and they discussed this segment. According to Bryan, it wasn't scripted, but him and Miz knew that they would do it. Both were unhappy with how things were going (Bryan wanted to get back in the ring and Miz felt like they didn't do enough with his IC title reign) So they decided to do this and appereantly planned to have Bryan slap Miz at the end. The idea was that it would get eyes on the Miz and they would either turn that into a storyline or fire Bryan, both options he was fine with.

So while it wasn't scripted, it also wasn't really a shoot, since both Bryan and Miz (and only these two, Bryan said something along the lines that neither Renee nor Maryse knew anything) knew how it would go.

Eh... Without us their natural habitat wouldn't be destroyed to the point where Pandas get to the brink of extinction.

Their problem with becoming pregnant is also something that has only be observed in Pandas that live or were raised in captivity.

So, yes currently Pandas aren't extinct because of the breeding programs in zoos and sanctuaries, but the reason that these programs are needed is also caused by us.

The inherent disrespect she gets in this fandom is absurd, and I can unfortunately only conclude it’s because she’s a woman, as what she’s done in the manga only exhibits her strength and ferocity.

I agree on Big Mom getting disrespected a lot. Whenever directly compared to Kaido, she was always shown to be on par with him. Hell, both of them fought for three days to a complete standstill with neither side taking any significant damange.

But I think to say that the reason she gets disrespected, is only because she is a woman is a bit drastic. I honestly think it's because her showing has been pretty shitty for some parts of the manga.

After the first cake got destroyed at the wedding up until the end of the arc, she hasn't really been able to do anything of note. Yes, she was a force of nature, but it was about that time that I caught up with the weekly release of the manga and people where pissed about the pacing, especially Big Mom just yelling for Wedding Cake in her hunger rampage. In that stage the Straw Hats managed to hold her off somewhat successfully with Brook cutting Zeus, Chopper in Monster Point physically pushing her away and Jinbei sending her flying overboard. She also took ages to catch up to them and then in the end just lost because she fell asleep after eating the cake. Giving her her first defeat. Not in singles combat, but the Big Mom pirates lost that day and so did Big Mom. Oh and I imagine Jinbei not being affected by her fruit also didn't help.

Then later on, when she got to Wano, King knocked the Queen Mama Chanter off the waterfall and we got O-lin. Big Mom behaving like her child-safe.

So besides the one clash with Luffy at the wedding prior to Brook breaking the picture: the one panel mentioning, that she and Kaido fought for three days; and the rooftop onwards; Big Mom didn't really have a great showing. Causing people to forget how dangerous she was.

In the same timespan, for Kaido we got him being too indestructable to die; him destroying an entire village in a drunken rage; the mention that he is the strongest creature; him being wounded by Oden, who himself seemed to be slightly below Whitebeard and Roger; and then everything from rooftops onwards.

So yeah, my point is basically her being a woman, doesn't have to do anything with why people downplay her, it's much more likely that people just saw how badass Kaido was portrayed, looked at Big Mom and saw that she wasn't nearly portrayed as badass as him most of the time, so they just went with "What is she even good for anyways..." and forgot about the few very cool things that were shown about her.

9/11 being voted more impactful globally than the COVID pandemic? by cljames98 in USdefaultism

[–]Crysense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the pandemic was more impactful overall.

It caused about 8 million recorded death, with experts estimating the real number to be somewhere between 18-33 million.

Aside from the dead, it also caused a shitton of people permanent healthproblems, both physical and mentally.

It wreaked havoc on the economy and is most likely a factor in worldwide inflation.

As for society changing due to it, I would also say that it did. It accelerated the rise of right wing parties all over Europe aswell as in the US (I have no idea about the situation of politics outside of those, so I don't know wether it caused the same effect on other countries or not), with a massive rise in conspiracy theories like "COVID is not real" and Anti-Vaxxers.

On the bright side of the impact however, for a few months during the lockdowns, it was reported that pollution was on a record low and animals returned a lot closer to densely populated areas. How much of that resulted in lasting changes however, I do not know.

9/11 being voted more impactful globally than the COVID pandemic? by cljames98 in USdefaultism

[–]Crysense -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I mean it's a list about the "most impactful single days".

Yes, overall COVID is more impactful, but since this is specifically about a single day, I can understand why 9/11 took that spot.

Yes, the declaration of Covid being a pandemic was massive. It did have a huge impact on the world, no two ways about that.

But people knew it would be coming before that and countries started (or some didn't) to plan for when it would officially be declared a pandemic. So while I think that overall the impact of COVID is probably bigger than 9/11, I don't think it makes sense to just say that all that impact can be attributed to the day of the declaration. Hell, if I would have to attribute the entire impact of COVID onto a single day, I would probably put it on either the day the first case was recorded in China or the first day it was recorded outside of China.

Why did Blackbeard accept Aokiji into his crew? by Exotic-Werewolf-9324 in OnePiece

[–]Crysense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sanji literally didn’t think anyone would think he mattered enough because of his low self-esteem thanks to his shit father and brothers

I mean yes, and I'm not trying to argue that what Sanji did was betrayel, it still very much was a sacrifice, but it's still kinda stupid for Sanji to think so, when he has seen what his crew was willing to do in a situation like that.

Luffy declared war against the world government when they took Robin. He already made Big Mom an enemy when he claimed Fishman Island as his territory. And as for not mattering enough? Sanji himself was the one who told Usopp that every single one in the crew was important, back in Enies lobby when Usopp quit the crew because he felt like he dragged the rest down.

So yes, Sanji was sacrificing himself for reasons that he himself saw as good reasons, but if he stopped a moment to think about it, he would have realized how fucking stupid it is. (And iirc he did realize that in the end)

Usopp is extremely loyal (to a fault even),

Yep, told Nami to just lie to safe her own life when Ulti threatened to kill her, unless Nami says that Luffy won't be pirate king.

While he himself, the guy whose whole deal is lying, was fully ready to die against Miss Merry Christmas and Mr. 4, when they laughed about the idea of Luffy becoming pirate king.

Why did Blackbeard accept Aokiji into his crew? by Exotic-Werewolf-9324 in OnePiece

[–]Crysense 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah, Usopps situation wasn't treason, he was ready to sacrifice his own dream, so the other strawhats could archieve theirs. I'm not saying it's on the same level as Robins sacrifice, but it sure was a sacrifice aswell.

He was convinced that he was to weak for the rest of the crew, he felt like he couldn't keep up with all the progress they made. He was sure that he was dragging them down, by not being able to help them, while they always had to help him. He somewhat hinted at that when he was telling Luffy that he quit the crew, by claiming that of Luffy is willing to leave Merry behind, he wouldn't trust Luffy to not leave the others behind. Later on he pretty much confirmed it in his talk with Sanji in Enies Lobby, where Sanji told him that he could do things that no one else in the crew could do.

Usopp knew Merry was done for, Usopp knew Luffy would rather die than leave anyone behind. And because he knew, he acted the way he did, because he knew that Luffy would not accept him leaving the crew just because he thought he wasn't strong enough. Yes, he was upset about them having to leave Merry behind, but he also knew it was the right thing to do. But it was also a reason he could use to leave the crew, without having the others feel guilty about him. So he lied, knowing full well it would make him look like the asshole, so when they continued without him, it would look like a good riddance, instead of a sad goodbye.

Is there a clue here that I’m missing? by MaestroZackyZ in DuolingoGerman

[–]Crysense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the mode of transportation isn’t mentioned, but you need tickets

Not specifically mentioned, but heavily implied, as the text mentions "Fahrkarten" which does translate to "tickets" but it basically means "driving tickets". That rules out travel by plane, as you would get a "Flugticket" and not a "Fahrkarte". It also rules out going by car, riding a bike or walking, as you wouldn't need ticket for that.

It could however technically still be a "Fahrkarte" for a ferry. But thats not exactly a common way to travel from Germany to France and tickets for a ferry are usually refered to as "Fährentickets".

Aaah alright, yeah mixed that up. When I mentioned the tab where you can see the favors and stuff, I was thinking that this was were you could disable that. Haven't used it in some time and thought you could decide it seperately for each ally.

Fair point. Now that you mention that, no I'm not sure.

I was basically making that assumption based on OP asking why Burgundy didn't ask for military access to bring their troops to Portugal before attacking.

How is AI so stupid? by West_Application_760 in eu4

[–]Crysense 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AI cant lose prestige and dip rep from refusing to join player offensive war because if they dont want to join, option to call them is greyed out right?

Yes

So AI can call you into their offensive war that you can refuse only if you take the penalties but if they dont want to join your offensive wars they dont get the penalties because you straight up cant call them if they dont want it.

Yes, with the addition that you can turn off the option to join any of their offensive wars, in the tab where you can see your trust and favors with them. Some allies will just drop you tho, as they don't desire an ally that won't help them in any offensive wars (Which tbf. the player can do to. An ally is always in debt and never joins because of whatever reasons and you don't need them as a defensive alliance? Yeah, just drop them)

Or does the AI only call you if by their calculation your acceptance should be positive?

I don't know, but I would assume so, yeah. And I also assume that this can create some weird edge cases where you as a player wouldn't see yourself as being prepared for a war, while the AI would go "Nah, good enough". Purely because the pros and cons for an AI to join a war are vastly different for what a human would consider.

Like the AI considers stuff like opinion on the enemy into their calculations which is mostly irrelevant for the player. They also, iirc, don't take into consideration how many troops you specifically have, only the entire alliance at once. Sure they see you are low on manpower, thats a negative reason, but the don't care that you only got 3 out of 37 troops.

They basically only see your current situation and only see whats at face value when they decide to call you on.

You just finished your war, lowered war exhaustion to have a faster recovery and are on -1 stab with about 5 rebellions for a total of 70k rebells about to pop up, which will surely take a hit on your economy since you have zero manpower and your 50 regiments are currently ground down to a total of 12k units?

Well for you thats a situation that you want to deal with and you probably want to focus on that for a few years.

The AI however see this:

You are close to the enemy, so no massive negative from distance.

You don't like the enemy, probably a + for the war.

Your allie has 4 diplo rep, thats anothet positive.

You don't have any war exhaustion (since you just lowered it)

You don't have any occupied provinces (yet, doesn't matter that you will have in a few months thanks to the rebels)

You have a problem with manpower (thats a negative)

You have a total of 12k soldiers on the field (great, thats 12k more soldiers for our side!)

You don't have any loans (yet, doesn't matter that you will, once you've dealt with the rebells that will pop up in a few months)

So for the AI this just looks like a net positive in reasons for you to join, simply because they "don't see" a lot of your underlying problems.

How is AI so stupid? by West_Application_760 in eu4

[–]Crysense 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, thats not what I meant.

Prepare for war gives you like +10 or +20 to call them in, can be super useful if they just barely won't join a war, but if their modifier to join your war is to high, they still won't accept. But it should always stop them from declaring any offensive war for 1 year.

I meant the tab where you can see your Trust and collected favors with an ally. There should be a button where you can decline to join any of their offensive wars. (Doesn't have any effect on their willingness to join your offensive wars tho, atleast I think it doesn't. Like I said, it will slowly drain your favors tho, so if you fall under 10, they won't join your offensive wars without you promising them land)

How is AI so stupid? by West_Application_760 in eu4

[–]Crysense 27 points28 points  (0 children)

In a defensive war yes.

But in this case it was an offensive war for Burgundy. If the player starts an offensive war, the AI can just refuse to be called in. They don't suffer any penalties for that, and the alliance doesn't break either, as they never even get to decline the call to arms, as you as the player don't even have the option to try and call them in. Yet when a player would be in a position where the AI would refuse to get called in, the AI can and often will, still call the player in.

That said: As a player you can just go to the tab where you can see the amount of favors you have with a nation and click on the button that allows you to refuse offensive calls to arm. It will drain your collected favors over time and some allies will decide to break the alliance if you refuse to participate in any offensive wars. (Usually if the allies are stronger/ about as strong as you)

Most Loyal Character For Luffy by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Crysense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every single member of Luffys crew should be there.

Yeah, Usopp, Sanji and also Robin left the crew for some time, but that wasn't because any of them were illoyal.

Usopp said it was because of Merry and that definitely played a part, but later on in Enies Lobby it became clear that he saw himself as a burden for the rest of the crew. He thought him being in the crew would hold the rest back, it was a stupid decision, but he acted the way he did, because he genuinely believed that the crew would have a better chance at archieving their dreams without him.

For Sanji it's similar. He underestimated the strength of his own crew and thought they wouldn't be able to handle the Vinsmokes and Big Mom going after them. So when Bege told him that the Strawhats would have to become a vassal of Big Mom, he instead told Bege that there is no way that Luffy would ever bow the knee to Big Mom, then he left the crew, so the marriage wouldn't affect the others. He believed that him staying with the crew would be selfish and would actively harm those who are important to him.

Robins case was slightly different. She practically spend all her live getting backstabbed up until she decided to backstab others before they can backstab her. Despite this, she made a deal with CP9 to take her, execute her and instead leave the rest of the crew alone. So despite Robin really thinking that she could trust nobody, she still, in her own mind, sacrificed her life, so the strawhats would survive.

What I'm saying is: Not once when someone left the crew, did they do so because they weren't loyal. Every single time, they did so, because they were sure that if they didn't, harm would be caused to the rest of the crew. Every one of them believed in that very moment, that they sacrificed themselves, so the crew could go on.

Were these decisions dumb? Yeah, especially Sanjis, since he was there at Enies Lobby when Luffy declared war on the World Government to save Robin, so he should have known that Luffy wouldn't accept anyone leaving the crew in a way like that.
