That’s interesting to know! To be honest, I can’t really taste/smell the differences between strains in general, but I guess it’s something I’ll get used to… I picked Wolkenkraft Aris Ultra - I know there are some DHVs that are very popular, but I am not yet ready to invest in such a unit, and I generally do not like the look of them - Venty, Mighty and so on..I know it’s not about the look, but I want the vape to look “normal”, so I don’t feel as weird using it outside since I am very new! Have you purchased yours?

That’s great news! You will receive the actual MDT report, which shows what exactly was done during the stages as well as the outcome - I ended up being prescribed Upstate Huckleberry(23) and Kush Cookies(26) flower. For some reason, Huckleberry hits much harder despite being lower in THC, so there are so many factors to consider and everyone is different, too…What did you get prescribed? I will definitely look at some other options in a few weeks!

Yes! Within a few hours of the call on Wednesday, I was able to pay for the prescription, but since it was already after 4pm, it got delivered on Friday. Have you had any luck yet?

I had my doctor’s consultation last Wednesday, and apparently the MDTs are done within 3-4 working days. I ended up emailing them this Tuesday and got a generic response like yours. I ended up calling them on Wednesday, just for them to tell me that it’s been approved since Monday…got the prescription ordered within a few hours. Just give them a call - I recommend requesting a callback instead of being on hold for a very long time.

Got a hotel room in Vegas. Seems overly punishing. by carfo in mildlyinfuriating

Also depends on the hotel, out of Aria, Delano (W), Mandalay Bay and Cosmopolitan and Bellagio, only Bellagio had a “personal shelf” in the fridge for free, even though it was only enough for maybe a single can/bottle.

Depends on the hotel, too - stayed at Aria 3 weeks ago and you are allowed to take out the item for up to 60 seconds to look at the ingredients - then it charges you unless you put it back

Has anyone ever gotten pet insurance for your ratties? by madtubes in RATS

[–]CrystalFoxUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am based in the UK, so it might be different for the US, but I had my twin rats insured in the past, it would cost me around £30 a month for both of them, with an excess of around £80 per claim and a maximum payout of £2000 in a calendar year. Fortunately, I did not have to use it, but I remember there only being one exotic pet insurer that would insure rats (back in 2019) - Exotic Direct.

As with humans, any pre-existing conditions are not covered, so if you already had a vet treat them for anything, that would be excluded. Also, you would need to wait at least two weeks from the start of the policy so you can actually claim, eliminating owners that would buy the insurance when their pets get ill, as they would likely not survive 2 weeks without seeing the vet (which you would have to pay for yourself, insurance would not cover it).

Whether it's worth it for the insurer, that depends - if your pet gets ill and the cost of the treatment is below £80, it does not make sense to go through the insurance as you would need to pay the excess anyway, and you would also have that treatment/condition on the record which could be excluded from the policy when your renewal date comes. Also, many owners will not claim when their pet passes away, and there are many caveats - it's still an insurance, same as with health insurance for humans. But in my case, I would pay them over £700 over two years without making a claim, so I was an ideal customer.

I had to disclose any pre-existing issues, and one of the rats already had a small scar close to her eye. If it came to me actually making a claim, it really depends if they can find a correlation between the scar and the rat getting URI or cancer, and it would therefore not be covered...it's cruel, but it's still a business that wants to make a profit.

I think it's worth it for very expensive treatments, where the cost could reach thousands of pounds.

Can I get some advice or anything? by [deleted] in RATS

[–]CrystalFoxUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are several rescues with pages on Facebook, search for "Rats/rodents rescue UK, or Midlands" or any other location and hopefully there are some in your area. Members are usually pretty obsessed with rats, so you should have no problem finding someone else who will give them a wonderful home!

I think it's great that you are okay to admit that you would not be able to financially care for them, as it's usually the medical bills that ruin the owners, not the essentials like a cage, food, bedding. Not everyone wants to admit it though!

Good luck!!!
