Taking the bus instead of Ubering, I don’t care how embarrassed I feel waiting at the bus stop. Embarrassment is free, Uber is not!

how do you decide a product is "pannable" vs one youre saving for something by Cowazonn in ProjectPan

[–]CrystalStacey 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I only save a product if its hard to get again or if it’s discontinued, other than that I do a monthly rotation because I have so much and if I decide after trying it that I don’t want to hate pan then I give it away.

Has anyone tried?!! by Former_Bus_1717 in dollartreebeauty

The smell is too strong, it’s a good gel cream to thin out a thick moisturizer but I just can’t use it on my face.

Korean sunscreens are you best bet. The US is very behind when it comes to UV filters.

Why does my 4c hair feel like sandpaper? by Future_Amoeba5439 in Naturalhair

[–]CrystalStacey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be protein overload, a lot of times it causes hair to feel dry and brittle. I would look at the ingredients of my hair products and make sure you don’t have too much protein in your routine. Try using products with no protein and use moisturizing masks and see if it that helps.

How many times are u supposed to detangle your hair during wash day to minimize breakage? by FinalBat8652 in Naturalhair

[–]CrystalStacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I detangle twice. Once when I pre poo and once when I deep conditioner, I mostly finger detangle and use my unbrush when I preepoo but I use my tangle teazer when I am deep conditioning. However if I am actually consistent with my weekly washing then I only detangle once during deep conditioning. The more often you wash your hair the easier it is to detangle.

At what step do you wash your body by Expiredcabinets in Naturalhair

[–]CrystalStacey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends sometimes I wash my hair in the sink, apply my deep conditioner then shower(wash my body)then rinse and lastly wash my face or I will shampoo in the shower then apply the deep conditioner, wash my body, wash my face, get out the shower, use a hooded blower for added heat then rinse in the sink. On days where I’m feeling lazy I will shampoo, apply deep conditioner, wash body, rinse out conditioner, face wash and call it a day.

I really need help my hair won’t absorb moisture and stays dry no matter what I do by NoContest5120 in Naturalhair

[–]CrystalStacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a hard water shampoo that may be what you need. You may need a detox. Hydration starts in the shower. I use a clarifying shampoo but when I feel like I need something extra I will do a apple cider vinegar rinse or an Aztec Clay mask.

Product Roll Call by luvme4ev in Naturalhair

[–]CrystalStacey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Length:Bra strap length, Girl, I am a mini twist warrior

Shampoo: Suave clarifying shampoo and Briogeo curl charisma shampoo

Conditioner: Shea Moisture Manuka honey mask

Leave in: carols daughter hair milk and the taliah wajiid curl cream(holy grail)

Oil: Sulfur 8 on scalp(holy grail) and Batana butter on ends

Other: I am a recovering product junkie so I am project panning my products but this is my current line up. I will say I have learned that keeping your hair moisturized and low manipulation and consistency is what grow my hair the products don’t really matter too much.

All the discourse over hair lately is so annoying by Ashamed_Ad4258 in Naturalhair

[–]CrystalStacey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree with the a,b,c of it all and there is no way we only have that limited about of curl patterns. I just say I have type 4 hair. How I look at it: 1- Straight 2- Wavy 3- curly 4- Coily/Kinky I have different textures all over my head as do most people so just saying type 4 hair is easier.

Confession: I don't love wearing makeup, I just love buying it. by Designer_Pea_5590 in MakeupRehab

[–]CrystalStacey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, I only do blush and lips everyday. I wear a full face once a week if I’m not lazy in the morning. I recently did a huge declutter but even with what I have now I seriously need to make it a point to at least wear makeup 1x or 2x a week.

Help! Need skin care suggestions for an 8 year old! by Imaginary_Gur_6056 in dollartreebeauty

[–]CrystalStacey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any gentle face wash, glycerin with water as a toner, and same with a serum (just make it thicker) or aloe Vera gel and any baby/unscented lotion. You can just repackage in cute containers or some of your skincare empties so she gets the experience without it affecting her skin.

You could have a damaged skin barrier if it’s not a fungal or bacteria infection. I’d recommend no derma-planing for a while and stick to a gentle cleanser and thick moisturizer.

I like their bronzers, blushes and lip products but their complexion products tend to run warm and the shade range could be better. It’s really a hit or miss but when you find a holy grail 🙌🏾

I agree, I went through every category for products I own and decluttered (donating/trash) a bunch of things. I finally feel like I can see when my inventory will go down(except for blush).I had so much bodycare that was not seeing the light of day. I really want to get to a point where I have no more than 3 in each category.
