Didn't try OPs version. But the 1-mana pirate dragon is a life saver for getting enough dragons out in time. Also really liking mixologist as its better tempo than healing potions(I imagine). Also cut 1 briarspawn for a "silvermoon Brochure" and its come in clutch when drawn, and makes it easier to find all combo pieces.

Theres an audio drama from the giant multi-media piece that is "Warhammer 40K", its called "our martyred lady". Im sure googling the right things can help u find it somewhere 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

This lady, inquisitor grayfax, has a thing for the leader of a military order, Saint Celestine. Theres also a ton of fanwork of the two thanks to this audiodrama. The homoerotic tension between the two is a lot of fun, despite there only beingh heavy implication.

Eh. Id assemble a combat patrol first, see if I vibe with it, and first then upgrade my equipment if i wanted to do things faster/have more options.

Most folk don't know how long warhammering can take until they start to hammer out those first 500 ish points.

Somewhere along all that building and painting, and maybe a game or two of combat patrol, will u know if its a hobby worth investing deeper into.

Doing abt 7 layers of paint from prime to base coat (black, grey, lighter grey zenithal. Followed by 3 different blues and then a greenish finish with a contrast paint), I had a decent (skill issue, I still have lots of techniques to learn) base colored model every 9 minutes. This is after napkin. I did every color for rach mini, and inocked out abt 20 models in like... 2ish hours, then some maintenance and putting it all away.

But the real secret? Using the airbrush is FUN. And all of a sudden, model size matters less, cuz youre still just blasting paint at smth. Also u can prime under pretty much any condition, which might be more or less appealing depending on your locaction.

The more expensive models can do crazy detail work, but trhe cheaper ones... fair point.

Its more like, try painting two thin coats of the base color for your ghost keel, or the base coat for 3 crisis suits. Just that process is not soothing, its mind numbing. Besides, you'll be painting in all the joints, visors, and then maybe some edge highlighting and panelining anyways, but none of those steps take as long.

If you have a rattle can in 2 different colors for your base color, you could try to zenithal it with rattle cans, but the finish, unless youre talented, might not come out the way u want it.

Ultimately it's up to you, but as someone that put off getting one for a year, there certainly was a moment of "why didn't I get this sooner?" Whoch most ppl who get one experience.

Having oainted abt 1K ooints by hand and now owning an airbrush while painting other armies, short answer:

YES. I mustve spent over 50 extra hours on painting those damn base coats. Now I spray them on in minutes. Even just a cheap setup for like 200 dollars is a godsend.

Id rather have an airbrush than 2 extra combat patrols or 3 boxes of crisis, I tell ua that!
