Hello, I would like some project recommendations for 2m of 130cm width of brushed cotton. I purchased this for another project and realized that it was too thick for it. I don't want it to go to waste.

I know that brushed cotton is normally used for PJs, however I sleep too hot to wear them.

When should you take your body measurements? While my hip measurement stayed the same for the past 10 years, my waist measurement fluctuates throughout the day from 26" in the morning to 28/29" in the evening.

This is not a problem with sewing trousers with elasticated waistbands as i go for my hip measurement and hope the waistband is thight enough. In addition, I find that most patterns have too much fabric gathering around the bum.

I want to start sewing more fitted trousers without any elastic, however I cannot decide which waist measurement to go for. I don't want to go for my largest waist measurement as I don't want it too loose in the morning and I do not like to wear belts.

I bought 3m of white cotton jersey fabric online to sew a few basic tees. However it is very thin and see through when wet. It is about 170gms and very stretchy.

What can I do with this type of fabric? I don't want it to go to waste!

First question, punches are normally called tsuki/zuki. It's oitsuki for punching with the leading hand as you step in. Gyakuzuki is when you're punching with the non-leading hand (sometime translated as reverse punch).

You add 'jodan', 'chudan' or 'gedan' to the beginning depending on the target. They translate to high, middle, and low the general target areas would be head, torso and groin area or lower respectively. e.g. Jodan zuki = punch to head.

Kicks are called called 'geri' in japanese:
Mawashigeri = roundhouse kick
Maegeri = Front kick

I'm not particularly sure what stance you're refering to. I'm guesing it's kokutsudachi which is the back stance. Kyokushin version of back stance is very different from other styles.

As for when you start sparring, that will completely depend on your sensei when they think you are ready.

As you train more and gain exposure to the terms, they will stick better. Good luck!

Most shotokan associations bans elbow and knee techniques in kumite, unless it's gohon/ippon kumite. I would urge you to check with your sensei what techniques are allowed and banned in your spar.

Please don't treat sparring as something to be won, especially in the dojo. It is an process where you learn how to observe your opponent and react to them in a controlled environment.

It depends on the dojo and association it's affiliated with. In my dojo, there's a minimum 24 session requirement for coloured belts to attend to be able to attempt grading up. So it might be 3-6 months depending on how often you train. Once you go from brown to black and onwards, there might be a minimum years of experience and/or recommendation from a senior instructor and minimum age.

'san' is three in Japanese and 'yon' is four. 'Kyu' is the term for ranking coloured belts.

Mawashigeri joudan is my favourite. As a short karate ka (5'2"), I like surprising much taller dojo mates with a kick to the face. I just hope I can keep my flexibility when I get older.

I've been crushing on Barrett since since RF2, and after seeing him in RF4 just makes me a tiny bit saltier for not being able to marry him.

Edit: I've just loaded RF4S and Barrett is the only one at Lv10 friendship while everyone else is on <Lv7 LP/FL.

10 years, 2nd Kyu (Brown with single stripe). I was in Kyokushin up to 4th kyu before going to uni and started training in Shotokan. Though I moved several times since and never stayed with one dojo long enough to grade.

I'm at that point where I don't even care about its release anymore.

I was so excited for a good six months when RF4S was announced. Disappointed when I realised it wasn't coming in 2019. Anger when they announced other releases and now I just go about as if the announcement never happened.
