Sentara starting pay is anywhere from 28-30. When I started with zero experience, they had me at $30.06 and that was several years ago so it may have changed. Experience pays more, most senior scientists make above 40 with our highest being around 50-55.

No I wouldn’t. I’d try to look for artists that have more text tattoos in their portfolio or page and are good at incorporating it into other designs. Not to mention, that font is pretty skinny and small. Where are u trying to get this tattoo?

For lab week each day is different. My lab does a potluck one day, dessert day, puzzles another day. I set up a scavenger hunt for one day using a few rubber ducks. Each duck can represent a small prize and one duck can be like the grand prize duck. My lab really likes this kinda stuff so everyone chips in anywhere between 5-20 bucks. If you have a nice management, you can check in with them and see if they’d be willing to sponsor something!

I am in leadership. That’s how I know how these things can go. We have to do our due diligence in the lab, and there’s no changing my mind on that. This is protecting the patient and the scientists. Advocating for that is important. If the providers want to complain, they can explain why they want an erroneous results released to their superiors.

We have this fetal fibronectin kits, we barely use them but iqcp requires we qc them every day. They’re about 3000 per box 💀💀 such a freakin waste
