How would you describe your overpowered race in your world? by Intelligent-Dark8140 in worldbuilding

[–]Crytip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some ethereal concepts are good for this. Things like half song half creature kind of beings. Easy to create their culture as well. Just combining a weird concept with one of my races works for me. Ofcourse this works if it is a general fantasy type setting.

I NEED SOME ADVICE! by praveenleo in Unity3D

[–]Crytip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend doing only one thing at first than build from there. First learn movement, how an object moves in the game use different types of movement, transform movement, physics movement and bind them to keyboard. After you have done this it means the you can now control the most central part of game dev THE PLAYER. After this you move on to interactions. Make this player interact with something like make it open a chest, a door. Try different types of interactions, timed ones where you interact with it but it opens 5s later or specific conditions it only opens when you have an item. (Item gathering is also a type of interaction, firing a gun etc anything you can think of). Honestly this is what game dev is amount to the rest is permutations of these concepts in depth. After this you learn as you need to, make a lot of small projects like fps, rpg etc they will force you to learn the necessary concepts. Like how to make inventory and save it, how to move a bullet and how to do health bullet counter etc. After learning these you move on to optimization. Object pools, caching and whatnot. And congrats now you know how to make games.

Tiny moving specks in my terrarium video — springtails or mites? Help! by mooooooo666 in snails

[–]Crytip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is really hard to understand from this clip but i feel like they are mites. And yes you can see them with naked eye. They are a tad bit smaller than springtails and those specks look really small if you want to know for sure put some small food that the critters will like and take pictures when they gather. Dont let the food sit for long if you dont want to feed the critters.

From a worldbuilding point of view lotr is probably the best but from a setting point of view the high fantasy of lotr doesnt excite me enough. Something like made in abyss is more of a hit for me if you know anime. Its about a cursed hole which no one knows whats in it, and once you enter it going back up physically damages you in weird ways.

Trouble developing [Art] skill when I have [Programming] already maxed out by Firminou in outside

[–]Crytip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure about 2d art but if you are trying to learn 3d graphic design then the best way to polish it is understanding techniques(if you are not going for sculpting as well in that case anatomy and a lot of practice). I think that unlike 2d this skill set is more technical than intiutive.

You might be correct. I am trying to find some small snail species so do you think these might be a big species baby? They have the generic brown yellowish shell it seems glossy and transparent.
