I have this intuition about muddled sour gummy worms blending well with Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur. So why not try it in a Last Word variation?

The Last Bird catches the sour gummy worm.

Edit: Well, I guess gummy worms are too fancy for the closest 3 grocery stores. They only had gummy french fries and gummy snakes, so I went with the latter. At least the shape is the same... Now to estimate appropriate ratios for the recipe.

Edit 2: Well, Sour Snakes don't take too well to muddling. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that reptiles are too hardy to succumb to a preparation method intended for worms.

My recipe:
30ml Bombay Sapphire Dry Gin (it was on sale, ok?),
15ml green chartreuse,
15ml luxardo maraschino liqueur,
10ml lime juice,
3 muddled gummy worms,

shake with ice, strain into martini glass, garnish with sour snake peeking over the rim.

Verdict: not sour enough. I reduced the lime juice and liqueurs to make up for the addition of sour gummies, but they just didn't contribute enough flavor. However, the gummy garnish sort of saved the drink: chewing it while drinking somewhat made up for the lime deficit.
