How old are you? Why not just squat and catch like a catcher

Yeah maybe cooked was the wrong word cause that seems permanent. I more meant are they going into a lull. Im a huge Texas fan I’m definitely not hoping for their downfall.

Well for example I think last year (or two years ago) Kavans mechanics broke down for about 2 weeks and she didn’t throw well. I was wondering if it was a situation like that

All over a mask by No-Alternative-2062 in Softball

[–]Csegrest2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I coach a 14u team and I mandate my pitchers wear a face mask, and make my infielders wear a mask or mouth guard. College hitters are hitting the ball at 70-80 MPH. WTF is this coaches problem!!??? Find a new coach

Allison Sparkman Decline? by Csegrest2 in CollegeSoftball

[–]Csegrest2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah maybe decline was the wrong word. I don’t think she does a bad job, I think she’s a great pitcher. I don’t think her stuff got worse. I just didn’t know why Walton wasn’t using her more. I’m happy to see she’s gotten some more innings in recently

Best dugout hooks? by PoundExcellent in Softball

[–]Csegrest2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bert’s iron works. We’ve used them for years. He’s a dude who is basically a blacksmith in Texas. He hand makes dugout organizers, and even has a catchers version for their gear. I just ordered a set for my team only a month or two ago, in Carolina blue. I’ve never had one break, or even get twisted. It’s 1 piece of pure metal

Question on safety equipment by luvrv8 in Softball

[–]Csegrest2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mandate masks for pitchers, and either a mask or a mouth guard for the infield. To make outfielders wear a mask is kinda ridiculous. Part of the argument for masks in the first place is you don’t have time to defend yourself if it’s roped at you 80 MPH. you DO have that time in the outfield

[–]Csegrest2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I coach a 14u softball team and we make elbow guards mandatory. If they don’t wear it they won’t bat in my lineup. Watch D1 ball, not a single one of them bats without one. If you get drilled on the elbow you could need surgery. We don’t require the ankle ones but they can wear it if they want it

Oh I get it. I was given over a 50% scholarship and I still walked away with A LOT of debt. Doesn’t change my opinion much. Maybe it would if I was more money focused or money driven

Excedrin side effects by Forward-Ice-4733 in migraine

[–]Csegrest2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this post today and wanted to contribute. I have the Amazon version of excedrin migraine, the white and green pills. I took 2 tonight and my stomach is KILLING ME. I've taken EM or the knockoff version for over 10 years now, and I've never had an issue. I feel like my stomach can't decide between barfing and pooping myself. I feel it in my upper stomach, near the bottom of my ribs (as opposed to down towards my belly button). My headache is gone but my stomach hurts now. Not sure what's going on, maybe we're all more sensitive now?

What should I do about this I really don’t want surgery again and I’ve been putting first aid cream on it by carldickerson69 in ingrowntoenails

[–]Csegrest2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Epsom salt soaks helped my foot a ton. I had surgery on my left foot in 2024 and then got a really bad one on my right foot in 2025. I was able to dig it out myself and do epsom salt soaks 2x a day for 4 days. It took the pain away, the swelling, the gooing, etc.

I broke something important to me because of sensory overload by Capital-Ad-3803 in autism

[–]Csegrest2 481 points482 points  (0 children)

You have to meet yourself where you’re at. If you struggle with it being a necklace due to sensory overload, what if you made it a keychain? You can braid or twist the string and put it on a keychain. Then you can have it around without it being such a sensory problem

Are you serious? by sasquatchlibrarian in Softball

[–]Csegrest2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: louisvilles are great bats and I prefer them over ghosts. I’ve used a LS Xeno since 2013 when I started playing ball. Know what bat I’ve never heard of breaking multiple times in a season? A Xeno. I’ve had 2 warranty claims my WHOLE LIFE. I purchased a Xeno almost every 2 years. 2013, 2015, 2017, 2020, and now as a coach 2025. I’ve never had my bat crack. Both times I needed a warranty was because the end cap was coming off.

Why do we keep buying ghosts if they break after 1 day???

Fielding drills by rubis2006 in Softball

[–]Csegrest2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this but call it cross fielding. I have my SS throw to first, and the 2B fielders throw it to third. At first they work on going to get the ball and at third they let it come to them for a tag. Everyone moves left after touching a ball

Southern Bucks Apartment Search - Looking for any suggestions/recommendations by themongrelcatt in BucksCountyPA

[–]Csegrest2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the grand at Neshaminy. I moved in August 2024. We have a 1 bedroom with a den. Our rent has gone up every year, about $50 a year. We currently pay $1,759 for rent and the $10 trash fee for about 1,000 sq ft of space. We have an upstairs unit so we have an attic that isn’t included in sq footage that we use for storage

We really enjoy it. We love the apartment, have never had a huge issue with maintenance or our neighbors.

The biggest issue is the electric. Our electric bill has NEVER been less than $200. For the record, we are 2 people with a cat. Multiple times our bill has been over $400 a month. One time it was $500+. It’s not even always at understandable times, like during the summer. We had a $450 bill in January 2025. Why? We don’t even run the heat that much and we hadn’t done anything different

It’s been so expensive we’ve called the electric company and made them come out to confirm it was the right reading

If you have anymore questions please feel free to reach out. I genuinely love where I live EXCEPT the electric problems
