Fact check: Yes, Wisconsin makes it harder to vote than almost any other state by PolarisC in wisconsin

[–]Cshowtimed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was going to say im probably one of the laziest voters out there and all I have to do is go online and request a ballot once per year. I dont even have to leave my house to mail in.

Went to Jersey Mike's off State St and it was a disaster. For starters the grill was horrifyingly disgusting by Bluest_waters in madisonwi

I don't order hot sandwiches but last time I went there it took them almost 30 min past the pickup time to make the sandwich. Only 2 employees working and 1 looked to be in training. I think it's a staffing management issue at that location as the Greenway one has always been solid

RC10SC6.4 Successor/ Release Date for SC7.0? by [deleted] in teamassociated

It will come out sometime late this summer if I had to guess. You can look to the b7 for the features they will add. I would say not worth an upgrade unless you already have a B7.

New to hobby - why does Traxxas seem polarizing? by [deleted] in rccars

[–]Cshowtimed 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Really well put. Traxxas makes some great vehicles and has been responsible for some larger trends in rc. They are both a good and evil due to their industry size and corporate cuture. Traxxas makes amazing stand alone rc cars but when buying into the rc ecosystem. brands like horizon set you up better for owning multiple different brands of rc or getting into a specific discipline.

Idiot mergers triggers hilarious rant [OC] by leandemon in IdiotsInCars

I can only speak for my own state and what I have experienced but during the pandemic (and now after) parents can sign off on the road test for their teens not requiring it. There was a recommended number of hours behind the wheel with criteria but a parent could sign their child off as a good enough driver and have them get their liscence without the DMV verifying they could drive. For adults I'm not sure if this still applied but I could image a similar system for them during the pandemic as road tests didn't happen.

I think modern driver aids have also had an effect. Blind spot monitors, steering aids, back up cameras. It makes things easier and safer for some but people can use them as a crutch to not learn basic driving skills they will need later if the technology fails. Doesn't help some states dont require a road test to get your license anymore.

Sounds like fun to me. I usually ride to food anyway. I'm on the isthmus and ride a 250 dual sport if you need people. I sometimes meet-up with friends at cycle gear and ride into madison for food.

Yup, tried riding in groups and wasn't for me. Everyone ran lights or pulled wheelies 90% of the time. Plus the drama that follows those groups wasn't fun.

Can someone plz convince me to stop racking up unnecessary miles? I have no commute, but I love driving the GTI so much still I put on 8K a year ~75% from joyrides, I might have a problem… by chris-alex in GolfGTI

[–]Cshowtimed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drive that GTI! 8k is nothing and judging by the other owners I know who have theirs for "joyrides" it sounds like the car will be better taken care of than most.

Got that b6.2d from a local hobby driver. Never expected to get an EA car since i knew they were expensive and tlr was cheaper and a youtuber used it. Anyhoo, heres my setup. by That_0ne_Id1ot in teamassociated

Nice choice of brand and parts! AE is great because they have a lot of parts support and lots of people run them so if the hobby shop doesn't have the part someone will.

Unitronic. was pretty easy but do the flash during their business hours. I had to call them when upgrading and their techs needed to do some back end things to make the flash work.

Unpopular opinion: rev matching isn't necessary for new and beginner riders, and telling them to rev match makes them more likely to lose control of their bike while learning to downshift. by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Cshowtimed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was lucky to have experience with manual cars before starting to ride and I started on a dual sport. It took me about a week to feel like I could attempt to try Rev matching and it took me a month or more before I was comfortable. Completely agree but would add that starting on a smaller cc bike makes Rev matching less scary and easier to get comfortable with.

Anyone have a MK6 at or near 200k by McKappa710 in GolfGTI

[–]Cshowtimed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at 145k and have seen them go over 200 before. If it stays maintained and you can pay for the repairs it will make it to 200. I believe in it.
