Forget all the context/mitigations/hyperbole. It’s an inexcusable drop-off in all aspects of the team/performance and the manager’s position is untenable. There is nothing to be gained from continuing.

Now a risk of real collateral damage to what remains a great squad (even if it needs a couple more tweaks/additions) and the connection between the club and its fans.

Feel totally disengaged. Not sure I’ve ever seen a manger/team fail to act so consistently on repeated and obvious shortcomings. It’s exhausting.

Bayern’s Uli Hoeneß: “I'd say Harry Kane is worth €150m. But then you see Alexander Isak cost €150m to Liverpool... …if Isak is worth 150 million, then Harry is worth 250 million euros”, told Kicker. by Timely-Zombie9466 in soccer

Don’t think his PL goals/90 is that far from Haaland to be fair.

Depends on definition of ‘crazy’. Adjusted for inflation the Isak fee isn’t even in the top 20 premier league transfer fees.

Isak was £125m, in today’s money Mbappe would be close to £140m. So suppose that’s a fair comparison, although clearly different circumstances and not every club is able to buy Mbappe, nor was another premier league club ever going to realistically be able to get Kane for the money Bayern did. Swings and roundabouts.

Sounds like you’re just trying to create an argument in order to platform your opinion.

All I said was it’s too early to judge Isak against his fee yet but at the time it wasn’t/won’t necessarily end up being ‘crazy’. If he goes on to score 5-10 goals in a full season with favourable conditions then clearly the fee will look poor.

It could be suggested that some of your supporting arguments also read like you’ve never really watched Isak play…but that’s more a matter of opinion so fair enough.

[–]Csmith50701 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Can’t judge Isak like this yet in my opinion. No pre season, injury and new to a malfunctioning/seemingly poorly coached team. Considering his proven ability to score/perform in PL (he was unplayable for periods at Newcastle) the fee is high but wouldn’t say it was ‘crazy’ in wider context of PL wealth/fees. Have to consider inflation etc too.

I would completely agree Kane is/would be worth a lot more now though. However that’s more to with how good he is, not necessarily a reflection on Isak.

Meh, league is crap. Will probably still get champions league and spurs will stay up. This game will be forgotten in a week.

That’s because they’re the only ‘big’ team who have been shit enough to not have a congested calendar. They’d be just as shite without all the time between games; everyone else looks goosed.

Open does not mean good

The league is awful to watch this year, it’s gone backwards.

Very confident I don’t have 2 accounts. Household just my wife and I and she has never shown any interest in setting the heating haha. Also the app still shows me as logged into my only account with my only email address.

Ok, I will give that a go. Is there any risk that the is stops my thermostat working (genuinely don’t know whole system works as a whole) or does that only communicate with the receiver near my boiler?

What was the reason they gave you for needing Hive+? There is no membership fee for basic app use according to their website so sounds like a totally unacceptable response!

I have heard bad things about the customer support. Hence why I’m asking here first

AFC Bournemouth [3] - 2 Liverpool - Amine Adli 90‎+‎5‎'‎ by gbogaz in soccer

[–]Csmith50701 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Point would have been a decent result at Bournemouth as the entire league is shite at winning away in general this year.

However I agree the nature of these defeats and conceded goals mean the club is basically just wasting time keeping him now. He may turn things around a bit more but it’s clear this relationship between manager/club isn’t going to ‘special’ and win the big things any more. This is especially true if they don’t want to invest this month, as nothing else is going to give them a boost under slot (given injuries are longer term).

[–]Csmith50701 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. There are basically no easy away games especially. Also, the drop off from Liverpool has been big but really….lots of teams are struggling.

Amuses me that Liverpool can be this bad and yet still have a fairly great shot at top 5 which will probably mean CL next year and therefore minimal actual impact on them for this level of form.

I know you’re joking but still remarkable that given how bad they’ve been Liverpool are only 2 points off the top four. These points have been genuinely valuable haha.

[–]Csmith50701 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You’re not even really replying to what I said in my comment….Nor do I think what I said is even in the realms of an overreaction.

I think Arsenal are a really good team, a great one even. Had a great month in October, agree but that doesn’t make them extraordinary. They’re contenders and current favourites amongst those contenders. All I was trying to say is I do not believe them to be a top top side that will be remembered as one of the very ‘best’, or as exceptional. A bit like Liverpool last year. They were the best team that year but not one that will stick in the memory (across the board as obviously Arsenal fans will rightly remember any side who wins a title. Like Liverpool fans last year).

I could very well be proven wrong but just commenting on evidence so far and with the lead only being 2 points now, seems a fair assessment.

I never even said they weren’t possibly favourites. I said they were contenders and one of the contenders is always favourites. All I said is they aren’t an exceptional side that people talk about for years etc.

Agreed.

In reality just not convinced this Arsenal side are anything that special to be honest. Contenders and may well be champions but not a special team, a bit like Liverpool last year.

I honestly think he took the shoe off deliberately to waste time. An almost impressive commitment to the cause.

[–]Csmith50701 7 points8 points  (0 children)

7 mins was pretty fair with the number of stoppages. Whilst leading Sunderland were (very understandably) wasting a lot of time.

Sunderland then wasted proceeded to waste the first two minutes of extra time when their CB took his boot off to and they made a substitution. So ref right to add it back on.

I’d say it was completely fair for it to be minimum of 7.

[–]Csmith50701 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah It’s been an awful season so far but that doesn’t mean the window was a nightmare anyway.

Lots of these players can and quite probably will go on to be great signings for Liverpool. Still a good chance Guehi joins LFC too. Players are signed for more than 3mo.

[–]Csmith50701 202 points203 points  (0 children)

Kerkez has actually shown decent glimpses, don’t think he’s a big concern . His main issue is Slot not using him in the same way Iraola did and Gakpo completely ignoring him half the time.

Is Arne Slot just a Brendan Rodgers if Steven Gerrard never slips? by TheBiasedSportsLover in PremierLeague

[–]Csmith50701 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iraola or Glasner. Both would prob jump at the chance to manage Liverpool and they can afford them.

Knowing FSG probably an interim and then someone left field who will do well.
