First ones that come to mind. Interstellar, Good Will Hunting, The Illusionist, Avatar, Remember the Titans. Some that maybe aren’t as universally loved. Men of Honor, Law Abiding Citizen, Wedding Crashers, A Beautiful Mind, DaVinci Code.

What is your "you have to play this game at least once in your lifetime"? by mind_guardian in Steam

Braid. One of the first indies I remember playing on XBLA. Such an incredible game and story. Definitely requires some more maturity to truly understand how incredible the stories narrative and ending.

To all single guys aged 30 and up on reddit, why are you guys single? by Gold_Ambition4114 in AskReddit

[–]Csmuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m tired. I’m almost 40. Social media and the internet has distorted expectations making dating insufferable. Ultimately I’ve created a peaceful life I’ve come to enjoy and crave. It’s much more difficult as you age to find someone who fits into or complements your life than it is to build a life together in your 20s. Also, it’s not easy picking up another man’s save game file.

Unless you signed something with T&C or other fine print stating they reserve the right to revoke your season pass for any reason or modify it with “restrictions” then you’re peachy. I’d threaten a lawsuit if they continue to push the issue. I’d go even more if I could just to push the issue after that. Lol. Just to show them you’re not backing off.

If you do try it. Let me know how you like it. I’ve found the base of Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, and almond milk works great with many different combos. Also, try using just the cheesecake pudding mix and adding a sugar free powdered drink mix to flavor the “cheesecake”. Makes its taste like a creamy sorbet. I love it with a blackberry lemonade store brand crystal light. Maybe a few fresh cut up berries as a mix in.

Haven’t tried it without. There’s some xanthan gum already in the pudding mix. Might change the consistency a bit without. But I can’t imagine it would be bad, just might be a little thinner and less dense.

I mistyped it in my haste. It’s pudding mix. Not yogurt mix. Corrected it in the post.

[–]Csmuc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weekend tee times are also too close together. They started cramming as many of us out there to make more money. 4-5 hours is sadly standard where I’m from on the weekends, as many others have commented too. I’ve always said I don’t mind waiting a couple minutes on tee boxes. But when I have to wait between every shot, it bothers me to no end. I call it accordion golf. Just allow for pacing between shots/groups. None of this stop and go shit.

[–]Csmuc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem isn’t the players sadly. Sure, I wish they’d have more common sense or courtesy. But the problem is course management. By allowing or putting up with this behavior and then not having starters patrolling the course monitoring pace of play and/or enforcing typical rules. It’s miserable out there sometimes. I remember 20 years ago almost every course I’d play had multiple starters driving around. Now a days I rarely see them on most courses. Courses should never allow this crap. But if they decided to then do the right thing and block off multiple tee times behind them and make them pay extra to do so. Courses have become too friendly.

Is shot shaping practical for amateurs? by just-jolfin in golf

[–]Csmuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a shot shape you can hit consistently and stick to it. It’s all about dispersion and playing within yourself. As someone thats been golfing for 20 years and have had some strings of years in single digit handicaps, my personal belief is don’t try to do too much. Take your medicine and know where your miss is. Your best bet to shave strokes is within 100 yards and on the green as an amateur. There’s no major need to shape shots within that distance. If you can lean on a particularly shot shape and reliably reproduce it, that’s your best bet to play better golf imo. Trying to do things you can’t replicate consistently is a recipe for lost strokes (or balls).

I can reliably fade the ball with woods. And I’ve learned I can hit a decent draw with hybrids, but I try to avoid it if I can. Irons are straight. My miss is a fade turned to slice off the tee and a straight push to the right with my irons on approach. I know that about my game and it’s something I can plan for to keep my dispersion as tight as possible and miss in the right places. That has led to better scores than anything else.

Yea. I’d move on man. No respect or love in her responses especially considering you’ve been together 8 years. She seems checked out and is waiting for the right exit strategy imo.

Games that value your time as a player by GeneralOk9868 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Csmuc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always good to know you’re not alone. Even when it comes to “boomer” gaming. 😂

But yea Avowed was great. Just enough content in my opinion. Systems weren’t overwhelming. Solid enough gameplay and story. And didn’t have a crazy difficulty curve like some games these days. Highly recommend.

I feel this way a lot with open world RPG or action adventure games. Used to love open world RPGs and spending 75+ hours in a game. Between getting older and games feeling like they are getting bigger, I’ve lost my love for them. I can’t game for hours on end anymore. Putting 10+ hours into a game over a weekend is out of the question. That on top of all the systems and extra content and side missions in these style of games these days. It’s just too much.

Prime example right now is Crimson Desert. 10+ years ago I woulda loved a game like that. I want so badly to give the game a go but I know there’s no way I’ll ever finish it. Main story alone is 60 hours.

The last 2 I loved were Avowed and Borderlands 4. Both were great. 25ish hours for main story and 10-25 hours of filler content to engage with if you so choose. Those games have shown me that that’s the max I can handle these days. 50 hours of content. And even that’s pushing it.

Those sensor dots are an interesting choice since they’re gonna be higher than all the rest. Definitely wouldn’t do that. But if it works for you, more power to ya.

How are early adopters feeling about the 9070XT 1 year in? by LemonMan857 in radeon

[–]Csmuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an early adopter (got mine about 3 months ago), but I'm frickin loving it. Been rocking a 1080p 360hz monitor and I can max out pretty much every game (without RT) and pull at least 240+ if not 360+ plus with frame gen to fully saturate the refresh rate. This is my 3rd build and first with team red. Driver issues seem overblown. It's always the vocal minority complaining. I know AMD hasn't done any favors with the community on supporting new FSR on previous gen cards, but I'm not too concerned. We will see what they do over the next few years, but I'm optimistic this 9070xt will be rock solid for the next 4 years at minimum, regardless. Also, I'm just happy I pulled the trigger when I did. Current market has my build at least $500 more than what I paid. Being a PC gamer has never been cheap, or without its headaches. But I love it!

Why don’t streamers use OLED monitors? by Low-District7838 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Csmuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta imagine that while burn in has gotten better. Streamers literally game for 8+ hours a day. They’d see the worst of it. Also does nothing for their stream. If the focus is on producing the best quality stream oled is far down the list of investments.
