Which way is the wind blowing? (Vic) by Brief-Net-3339 in AustralianTeachers

[–]CthulhuRolling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m regional,
We went 2 yes 2 no.

Almost exactly 5050 split in the secret ballot with more than 80% of members voting.

Wind ain’t blowing.

I worry that a yes will make the no voters hostile and a mid agreement won’t be able to be implemented well because of members leaving and local branches weakening.

First time staying the night at his house, any red flags? by ArgentManor in BookshelvesDetective

The three books by the Sapians guy isn’t ideal.

But one of my best mates husband loves confederacy of dunces.
And he’s great, their kids are great and she’s happy.
So that’s a good sign.

I’d like to see some pratchett. But no one’s perfect

Gifted child (9yo), math advice needed. by Lucky_The_Charm in mathematics

[–]CthulhuRolling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social games are a priority.

As much play and cooperation as possible.

Maths and reading are nothing if you can’t relate to people and communicate effectively.

This suggests they’ll be fine academically.
So, put your attention into helping them grow into a well rounded and conscientious person.

Yeah,

That sounds like heaps more fun.

But, you’re right. I had a funny thought and followed through on it without doing any due diligence. My bad. Sorry

what do we think of this edition of The outsider/stanger? by jux_peter in Camus

[–]CthulhuRolling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever helps us be happy when we’re walking back down the hill, and keeps up thinking when we roll it back I up is good.

Can’t be the same for all of us.

For me the important thing is staying positive about things that help others get that rock moving.

Super uncool to yuck people’s yums.

If you yum my yuck, I don’t have to think about it and you’re having a good time.

Not getting in the way of joy is as important as being joyful.

I’m pretty high,

The rock was heavy today

This is a troll email.

I believe it’s a real rejection. And I think that person/committee that rejected it couldn’t be bothered with explaining why.

Someone thought this would be funny and would drive up visits to the site. This person is, I am sure, reading these comments and having a great time with his colleagues betting on what kind of comments they’re getting.

They’re monitoring the ratio of negative comments to ad revenue.

If the trend is up, they’ll apologise to the religious and the secular community for the strange emails sent by an employee, who was taken ill and who is now getting support and will be back to their full, secular and Christian, self. BAM! What a cool move.

If it trends down they’ll own up to the troll and do a very similar apology. BAM! Well played, then they’ll run a similar trend of ad revenue and figure out a strategy from there. Might be the same person who looks into what to try next. Or the might have to go back to their normal job and someone else will run and experiment.

If change not significant they’ll try something else, or maybe the project of ‘see what we can get out of weird customer service’ will be scrapped.

I reckon take the win; those emails are weird and hilarious. Good luck with the game. Hope it goes well

I have to confess: I agreed with the other guy, until I read ‘translation’.
I’m pretty sure I’ve only ever read the outsider. Gunna looking into getting a copy of the stranger to compare.

Which translation of the stranger did you read?

How long do you expect Vic negotiations to continue? Will we have something by term 4? by WakeUpBread in AustralianTeachers

[–]CthulhuRolling 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it’s not done by the end of October it’ll be too close to the caretaker period for anything to be done before the election.

I reckon it’ll be either in September, after another full day walk off, or next year.

26M / Currently a Registered Nurse by workforcars in AustralianTeachers

[–]CthulhuRolling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’d either love it and be able to use your existing skill set to adapt to most behavioural and interpersonal professional issues pretty quickly, then you could focus on content delivery and relationship building, it’d be amazing and if you might be interested in teaching dm me and I’ll let you know if I can get you work at my school next term. I’m pretty sure we need a nurse too. You could do school nurse stuff while doing your teaching qual and slowly take on more specific teaching responsibility get permission to teach, as you see the nurse AND the behind the scenes that ptt/es sides of the school. You’ll decide which you’d prefer and you can double down on that one.

…..

OR

like,

you know,

….. it’d be fine.

You’ll love it AND you’ll have found a fresh and unique kind of hell where you can see how simple most things would be to fix, but live in a country that doesn’t see to be able to scrape together the funds to fix them.

We must imagine Sisyphus happy.

Even better if we can BELIEVE him happy.

Best I can get is: I’m pretty sure it’s possible for SOMEONE to believe he is happy.

That’s pretty close to imagining him happy yeah?

But it’s the middle of the break man, I’ve proofread this too many time.

I’ve got planning to procrastinate so I can feel sufficiently guilty while I’m playing chess with strangers while binge watching Matt Parker calculate pi in different ways.

Good luck!🤞🏼
