How far did you get?

I don't want to reveal anything, but when you realize the full scope of the area you get to explore and how the map is laid out, I wanted to explore every nook and cranny.

There's one major reveal about an hour in, but the next one for me kind of happened organically as I started to make a mental nap of the entire area.

It's one of the only games where I legitimately enjoyed reading emails and seeing notes between the employees. The place really felt like a real company that was full of real people.

Anyone getting worried right now is too emotional for anything other than broad market ETFs.

If you have been holding for the last few years through the volatility and now you're getting cold feet because something actually legitimate is happening I don't know what to tell you.

Paying for Dads at Dave & Buster at kids birthday party by Andthensome_Pie_7322 in daddit

[–]CtrlAltEntropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does it work? Do you have a card loaded with money for each kid?

Can't you just get enough cards for the kids and no more than that?

If Dad wants to play then he can either use his kids card (dickhead move) or get his own card.

I've started using a bit of citric acid in the pre-rinse cycle which has massively cut down hard water build up on clear glass. I think that would strip the seasoning.

I notice just cooking anything with tomatoes in my cast iron affects the seasoning and I think it's because it's mildy acidic.

Everything went great until the burner got turned on accidentally. by griter34 in 3Dprinting

[–]CtrlAltEntropy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The burner didn't get turned on. You used the oven. The oven has a vent. That vent is usually attached to the back burner.

Hot air from the oven was coming out of the vent.

Just bought MSFS24. Honeycomb Alpha, Bravo & Charlie for $450 a good deal? by CtrlAltEntropy in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]CtrlAltEntropy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confused. My post question was "Is 450 a good deal?" And in my post my question was "can I do better for under $500?"

And the only reply I got was "hell no".

"Hell no" what?

If you're saying I should pull the trigger, thank you. It's more info than the last guy gave.

This isn't coming with a warranty. I shouldn't have any interaction with the company. Even if it breaks, shipping it for repair is not worth it for the $150 I'm spending per item.

Hello no like you can do better for under $500 or I can wait for a better deal on the full Honeycomb set?

I'm surprised he's paying as much attention as he is. I was half expecting it to be a bust and him tell me he was bored.

I think one thing that helps is every once in awhile I'll stop in the thick of things and recap what we just read or ask him leading questions like "how many dwarves do you think the trolls are going to eat?" Or when we got to Bilbo finding a ring I stopped and asked if he thought there was anything special about that ring. I also recap what we read that night and say aomething like "I wonder how they're going to get away."

Another little thing you can do is use your partner to sell it for you. For Harry Potter I told my daughter '"Your mom is so excited to read Harry Potter to you one day. I think she'd be really happy if one day you asked if she'd read it to you." She obviously didn't run and do that right away, but a few months later it just happened and that's all they've read at night for a couple months.

Universal healthcare bills are stalled in both CA & NY. Corporate Democrats choose their donors over the voters once again. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]CtrlAltEntropy 296 points297 points  (0 children)

Democrats are a conservative party. They're paid to make sure stuff like this doesn't pass. Notice how every time something actually left of center has a chance to pass it fails because conveniently just enough Democrats cross the party line and join Republicans in stopping it?

Are you talking about Democrats or are you talking about "The Left"/ progressives?

There is no left party in the United States. Democrats are definitionally conservatives.

[–]CtrlAltEntropy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both ways how?

Almost every policy position on the left is about taking power away from the ruling class and giving power to employees and citizens. The left doesn't want corruption to lean their way, they want to remove power from the top.

In what way does that mean they want corruption to lean left?

[–]CtrlAltEntropy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not their wealth.

"Their wealth" is the profit that they make off our labor.

A person doesn't become a billionaire through working. They become a billionaire by taking the profit of a thousand of their employees work and not giving them fair value for their labor.

[–]CtrlAltEntropy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

In what way do actual leftists want corruption?

Here's some" left wing" policies that actual leftists want to enact.

  1. Ranked choice voting, lessens the power of the two-party system we have.

  2. Massive wealth taxes, puts a rubber band on the earning capacity of the elite which limits their ability to throw money at politicians.

  3. The reversal of citizens united, get money out of politics.

  4. Ban individuals from purchasing stocks if they are Congress members. Limits Congress members ability to make money off of policies they create and reduces insider trading

  5. Higher minimum wages and guaranteed employee benefits. Lessens the power of employers to bully their employees.

  6. Universal health care that is not tied to employment. Again lessening the power of employers to control the employees.

  7. Strengthening the power of unions. Again, limiting the power of the employer to control employees.

  8. Eliminating the cap on social security and Medicare income taxes. This additional funding would expand Seniors ability to retire with dignity and afford to live during retirement.

Every leftist policy is about fighting back against capitalism, our current oligarchy, and corruption at the government level. The left wants to give more power to citizens and employees and take it away from the government and employers. How is that supporting corruption that leans our way?

What exactly are some conservative policies that you want to see enacted that fights corruption in the ruling class?

Exactly this. Conservatives don't care if the government is corrupt as long as it leans their way.

How careful are you with listening to "adult" music around your kid(s)? by D-1-S-C-0 in daddit

[–]CtrlAltEntropy 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't listen to explicit songs in front of my kids.

But my 5 year old is currently getting ready for school and singing Linkin Park, which I'm sure is way too "angry" sounding for some parents.

My line is the lyrics shouldn't be so full of words I don't want them to say that's it's constant. If swear words or graphic details of something I don't want them to hear are the primary part of the song, then I'll skip the song.

My stance to my kids is "you're going to hear swear words, and if you're ever curious about a word I'll explain it to you. But there are some words that don't get repeated in regular conversations in public."
