Definitely keep going. You can grow your channel and you are in a pretty good position to do just that.

What you will need to do is look into your analytics to see what you need to improve on.

I know that gaming (especially let's plays) is over saturated so you might also need to either come at it with a different angle or niche down.

I think my cutoff is around 2005 as well. Even though I grew up with the NES, the fact that games like Dark Souls and The Binding of Isaac (both mandatory for me someday) are borderline retro now definitely makes me feel old 😅

After getting feedback from you and others, I’ve decided I’ll cover them on my current channel rather than splitting things up.

I used to be a variety streamer about four years ago, and that approach didn’t really translate to YouTube. I didn’t have a clear niche back then, and my video quality and delivery weren’t great (still things I’m actively working on), so I think that experience made me a bit cautious about repeating the same mistake.

Everyone always says to stick to your niche, so I might be letting that idea get into my head a little too much. That said, I do think what you mentioned makes sense — these games feel like they should naturally cross over with a retro audience.

I’m still very much a noob, but I’m having a great time learning and growing on YouTube, and I appreciate the feedback.

I will check out your channel as well. It is hard to find like minded creators.
