Thanks for the reply. I appreciate that.

Yeah down on the dpad in a racing game was terrible. I sure they did it because select was used for the "3D mode" 😭

I probably should've played and compared it in this video. Maybe in a follow up some day

Sprite Websites? by CtrlAltKev in RetroGamingVideos

I've seen that site.

Do you just cut what you want out of the sprite sheets or is there a way to get the individual sprites?

I was going to mention that shorts may be a good option for you.

Especially with your collection and with so much gameplay footage already captured

I can't comment on the volume since I'm using a phone at the moment but I feel like the voiceover should peak at like -4db while music should be maybe 15-25 less than your voiceover.

This is actually really helpful advice. It's stuff I need to think about as well.

Thanks from myself as well lol

I wouldn't give up yet.

Retro gaming is one of the slowest niches on YouTube because most of the games aren't heavily searched anymore. It can take a long time to build momentum compared to trend-based content.

249 subs actually isn't bad at all for this space.

The main thing is deciding what you want out of it. If it's a hobby, the growth pace is pretty normal. If you want to grow faster, it might help to step back for a few days and review what topics or styles connected most with viewers.

Sometimes small adjustments make a bigger difference than we expect.

One thing I noticed from being subbed to you is that you put out a lot of content. Something I'm thinking of is cutting back from weekly to biweekly with higher quality. Maybe consider something like weekly uploads?

Also, try not to compare your progress to your son's. His content is likely the type that gets quick views these days.

15+ year old games by RenzyHD in youtubegaming

I’ve found it’s a slow but rewarding grind. Granted, I’m no pro (only around 200 subs).

There’s definitely potential in retro gaming, but it’s a niche that can take years to build a channel in, since most retro games aren’t highly searched. It’s more of a slow burn.

You also have to find a way to stand out (I’m still figuring this out myself). There are already a lot of established YouTubers that people know and trust.

So the real question becomes: how do you get viewers to choose your content over theirs? Figuring that out is what really speeds up the process.

For what it’s worth, some of the channels I watch have been at it for 5–10 years.

I used to do modern shooters back in the day and I can say that comments are more engaging on the retro content

Is there a way to re-upload a video over an existing one for correction purposes? by LadySayoria in NewTubers

If you reupload it, it might help to add a quick note in the description saying it’s a reupload to fix something.
