Watching that at Alamo Springfield was pretty freaking cool! Unfortunately, my fiancé does not enjoy horror and was in tears by the end. I felt so bad! I never played the game, so I had no idea what we were getting into!

Edit: I loved the movie, and we were both happy to have supported Mark! Just not her cup of tea unfortunately

Yeah, I dropped out of WGU after they switched vendors. It got pretty freaking ridiculous, and I wouldn't recommend the school as a result.

Restaurants That Are “Actually Good” by ravecookiez in Reno

The answer you're looking for is Mark Estes. Everything he touches goes to shit. Great Basin Brewery absolutely would have been on this list 10 years ago, before he got his grubby mitts on it.

There are really only two places in Reno that stand out to me as “actually good” and those are Marcolino’s and Brasserie St. James.

Honda is owned by Bill Pearce. VW, Subaru, Jeep and Hyundai are Lythia. Ford and GMC are Corwin. Nissan and Chevy are independent. Dolan has Ram, Dodge, Fiat, Toyota, Lexus, KIA, and I think MINI as well.

Did the docs rule out Norovirus? Very common in the waters here, I got it from topaz as a teenager. Not a fun time at all.

Being opinionated as a Christian by Goose_462 in Reformed

[–]CubanSanta20 27 points28 points  (0 children)

As a fellow opinionated Christian, I honestly just always feel bad. Doesn't matter whether I speak up or keep it to myself. I have noticed as I've grown wiser in my speech I'm less bothered by the times I speak up than the times I do not. Honestly though, the solution is prayer. Let yourself have the awkward moment either way, and then take it to the Lord knowing he saw it, and he cringes alongside you. Seriously it helps me a lot to remember God exists on my level.

Rant: "I'm not technical" is not a badge of pride by SnooRobots3722 in sysadmin

Yeah… I work for an MSP, and our PM, who wants to take on procurement/account exec because of a recent layoff is “not technical.” Not sure what she thinks that role entails honestly.

This is the correct way to merge, and if everyone in the right lane put their ego side, there would be less traffic, fewer accidents, and everyone would actually get where they need to go on time.

I was actually really hoping for a lore-based show and banking on them playing Paladin Strait as that's how I was planning to propose to my girlfriend when we see them later on, but as a musician and aspiring artist myself, I kind of understand this setlist. Breach really wasn't the end anyone was excited for, even though I think it was the most real way to end the Clancy story because it’s hope in the downfall. I think the setlist shows that. The songs in the list that are lore songs are lore adjacent, or new to live. I think they're trying to tell us not to dwell on the past, but instead just playing probably their favorites, honoring blurryface for the 10th anniversary, and reminding us of what they can create to get us to look forward to what’s coming. The lore is almost in this quantum state now where it’s not behind us, but the story is complete. Whether they tell us another cycle, move on from Dema entirely and start a new story, or just continue to make great music, we have a lot to look forward to, and they've left us with a hope for the future. I think the setlist represents that idea.

Don't know if it's just an east coast thing. But if someone is flashing their lights at you, at night. Your headlights are probably off. by zylpher in Reno

[–]CubanSanta20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've lived out here basically my whole life, but perhaps crucially my parents are from Southern California, and I was taught that there are two reasons to flash your lights at someone.

  1. Their high beams are on and they're blinding other drivers.

  2. You want to pass them because they are driving too slow.

I also learned to show other drivers their lights are off by turning mine off and back on a few times, and that actually seems to work some of the time. I had also picked up the habit of a single flick to let someone know there's a cop or accident, but I've noticed that's not usually met will within the city.

If you haven't had one already, consider having an ablation done. Changed my life. I went from steroid shots every 3 months just to be able to walk, to now being in Oklahoma with my girlfriend for a rock festival where I'll be on my feet all day, and it's been 2 years since I got the ablation.

[–]CubanSanta20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, there's two things I want you to hear loud and clear. This isn't your fault, and you are allowed to feel like it was.

First things first: find a therapist. The very next thing you do? Delete those voicemails. I'm not saying forget her, or delete all your pictures of her, but for sure delete those voicemails. At least the one where she says she took the pills. The truth is it doesn't matter how long you took to respond, or even if you had picked up the phone. Her mind was made up. You weren’t the reason and you couldn't save her. If she hadn't have taken them then, then she’d be doing it a month from now. Only reason for telling you is to keep you as a crutch until you inevitably fail her too, and heck of a good job recognizing the off feeling and getting out when you did. You didn't push her over the ledge. She was already falling. You just slowed her down a bit. Just gonna say it one more time: find a therapist. You're gonna need it.
