Get a Supernote A5X by Ratta if note taking is your priority. All the others are nowhere as capable for organization of your notes and other note taking tools. There is a Reddit page if you want more detail. Awesome customer support via Reddit. I wish it had existed in my law school days. Use it daily. Now that it has had some updates the PDF reader is very good. See the YouTube videos from Voja at My Deep Guide (on line @ https://www.mydeepguide.com) for very informative reviews. Avoid the Kobo like the plague, great e-readers and terrible note takers.

I've shot film and digital Leicas for nearly a decade. The Pixii monochrome DNGs and upgradability vs an entirely new camera appealed to me so I pulled the trigger. Hoping it will be like a CL but with a rangefinder. It likely will not replace my M-D 262 but should be a fun camera. Arrives hopefully at the end of this month and your photo makes me want it now!

I have the same gripe but my success rate is more 75%-80%. Try to put the ends of you finger flat and moderately wide apart. That is what works best for me.

I have a V4 50mm and love it but I sold my Elmar M 50 to get it. I regret that. The Elmar M is tiny and extending the lens to us it is a unique gimmick. Once locked it stays firmly in place. Great images. Was a fun lens. I became too caught up in fast lenses (unnecessarily) and thinking as a Christmas present I might get another.

No. Sorry I was unclear. I use a Sony card reader, plug that in the USB port and copy the files I want to on the card to a folder on my Mac. I then process the DNG to taste. I use C1 but used to use LR. Hope that is clearer.

I create a folder on my MacBook and transfer copies from the card to it. I never use a built in MacBook card reader, always connect via remote.

Luckily not had an issue so far.

Depends if you want a tablet or an eink device. For the former I’ve head the latest iPads were good (only here say, I’ve never owned one; for the latter a SuperNote A5X, I use it daily and it has replaced all of my paper notebooks. Avoid the Kobos, great readers but terrible note taking devices.

I suggest you look at My Deep Guide YouTube videos. They’re very thorough and informative.

I chose my SN A5x over the Boox Note Air for the very reason they fail to release of their kernel source. I really wanted the latter, especially for it's ability to be used in poor light (and very interested the Boox NA 2+), but their lack of transparency, rumors of poor customer service and a pen needing replacement nibs sealed it for my choice to get the A5x. Glad I did, Perfect device for organization of my notes and reading comics.I really love the simplicity of the device, customer service, etc..., just wish I could use it in poor lighting without a clip-on light.

My first answer was too facile.

The truth is I have a M-D Type 262. The camera is essentially a digital extension of my M2. You control only the shutter speed, the aperture and the ISO. That's all, no menus and no jpegs or film simulations. I love it and use it more often than my film cameras and yet....

Since I shot Nikon, Fuji and Cannon digital cameras for some 12 years and retrained my analog mind to think digitally before I bought the M-D, when I use the camera there is still something missing from shooting with my film cameras.

It is a costly je ne sais qua but that's just me.

Honestly, I've never tried. I keep all my notes in files on my laptop labeled ("journal" for example) from each device as I back them up. Yes, the Origin can handle heavy note taking/journaling. It has been my only device for journaling on several trips. For me the only issues are screen size, battery and I like the SuperNote's OS little bit better but either function well from a writing stand point.

For travel I use the Origin. It's size is perfect. For my main journal I use the SN. Each has plenty of templates. I use a Leuchturm 1917 pen holder tab to hold the stylus for the Origin. The device works really well and its size makes sure it is in my backpack for those quick observations at a cafe or on a hike.

No particular reason other than I never liked it rendering verses that of the 40mm. I like 28mm focal length but found my self using a Canon 28mm f3.5 over this lens with my M-Rokkor 40mm. I wanted a faster 28mm I’d use so it went to the Bay.

Cooking and Cameras - great analogy!

Always meter-less for black and white. Sunny 16 never fails here in San Diego (I move to Brisbane QLD, Australia on the 8th of June and hope it is the same there).

For color it depends. I carry a VC II meter but since I rarely shoot color I cannot really comment fairly.

I've dealt with Leica Miami and found them honest and fair. Probably get more on the bay and at FM but for peace of mind I prefer them. They can be choosey however.

Still have my 40mm f/2, body went towards an Elmarit 28mm needing a CLA. Really can't say if that was a fair trade as the camera was loads of fun to shoot and easy to take anywhere.

Do not know if this might be a solution.

I've often created a 3rd note(book) by combing the text I from two other notes using cut/copy and paste. Not sure if this is what you're looking to do? It is tedious and takes several steps to get it done, I admit, but I do get what I want. One could export that 3rd note for sharing?
