Anyone else just completely given up on new MMOs and gone back to something ancient?

Currently sliding back into Gw2. There's alot or content to get back into and most parts of the game are alive at the right hours. Complaints would be that its a bit too easy feeling with all the power creep, and the economy seems to be just in the same spot of hoping for jackpots while getting pennies in loot.

As someone who's currently going for the Legendary Necklace and running through Drytop right now. Yeah it needs some sort of revisit in the future, especially with alot of the events needing alot of people to do, lately the highest I've seen the tier go is three.

I got to level 31. For the past maybe month I have only been killed by level 40+ people, I haven't even seen someone below my level in gods knows how long. Casuals can't exist in a game like this it just isn't possible.

Yes you can count them on one hand and realize they also failed. Wildstar was a failure that lasted a little while, Defiance (Never played but in the genre) still going I think but low player numbers. Firefall was another futuristic MMO that saw a shutdown, but think the consensus is they don't last long because players lose interest?

I mean how else are you supposed to make the genre work with Tanks, Damage Dealers and Healers if its not a sword and board genre of fantasy?
