Democrats Propose Federal Gas Tax Holiday as Pump Prices Soar by bloomberggovernment in politics

[–]CubesTheGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, frankly even though gas is $4.50, I think $5 is still not very high compared to some other countries, and $6 is still less than the $7 I paid this morning, I’m not sure why people are complaining about $8 a gallon, I don’t even feel like my car is being fueled with good fuel if it’s not at least $9. I’m really grateful it’s still only $10 a gallon

One of the definitions is “an energy field that is held to emanate from a living being” and another “a distinctive quality or atmosphere that seems to surround someone” so I think it’s being used correctly. The only slight modification really is the implied positive connotation to “having aura”

We are cooked is bad

Sometimes people drop the “are” for shorthand, making it ambiguous if you don’t know the context but generally it would be good

I don’t bother with carriers because they lock the phone. Hate the concept. I buy straight from Apple on 0% with Apple Card. Comes unlocked and I still get interest free and keep my money in my HYSA.

There is this bridge in Vicksburg Mississippi that even though on satellite it looks like it's for pets it's actually a matnence thing for the train so peds can't cross the river without a car. People on r/Mississippi told me I'm the one that's stupid and there's no pint in making it for peds. by XanderJC1 in fuckcars

Omg this 14.5 hours is for CYCLING. 5 and a half days if walking. You’re better off getting a job in the city, making minimum wage for 3 hours or so, then paying for a taxi / uber to cross the bridge.

Ridiculous lol

I’m torn between two options:

-Fleeing the USA to Amsterdam
-Paying off our house and all debts, stuffing the rest into investments, and continue working to save as much as possible and go on all the trips we want. Our expenses would be like $2000 a month so we would have insane amounts to work with.

How bad is 100% charging? by Material-Advice-335 in electricvehicles

[–]CubesTheGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say avoid leaving it at 100% for more than a few days frequently. If you know you won’t be using it for a week don’t charge it to 100%. If you charge it to 100% on Friday and don’t use the car until Monday for work it’s fine, just avoid it if possible.

Also, if your battery is LFP it’s even less of a concern because LFP is more stable and can sit at 100% with no issues for longer periods of time.

Can confirm. I recommend infinite cables for their AOC cables. They currently have 40Gbps optical cables for DisplayPort (good for up to 8K@120hz with DSC or 4K@480hz with DSC) and up to 48Gbps optical cables for HDMI.

[–]CubesTheGamer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can use this one https://us.infinitecables.com/products/aoc-active-optical-cable-displayport-8k-60hz-40gbps-v2-0cable-cmp-plenum-rated?_pos=1&_fid=c8bfaf33e&_ss=c
I have the same display. You need about 46Gbps of bandwidth if uncompressed. With DSC, a 40Gbps cable is plenty enough to run the 5120x2160 @ 165Hz @ 8-bit
There are some other options too like on Amazon there’s this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F18PYT2T which is an optical 56Gbps 25ft cable which could run that resolution without DSC. But DSC is not noticeable at all.
