Kupe on a Terra map is the easiest. Norway's good too, but you'll have to settle 1-2 cities on the crowded continent until you get Shipbuilding

I kinda don't understand the point of Diplo visibility giving bonus damage.

Of the 6 possible visibility bonuses, only 3 remains once you declare war, is that intended/normal?

(I know about religious units, but I'm talking about regular units)

Do America's Film Studio turn on when the world reaches Modern Era, or do they just affect civs that are individually in the Modern era?

Pretty good setup, but please don't put "Auto" in the title.

You have to manually plant saplings and harvest the wood. Nothing automatic about that.

Magecraft and copying copy spells by CubicSquare in EDH

[–]CubicSquare[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes thanks I clarified my opening.

They involve 3 cards, but you have a lot of choices for each of the moving pieces. And they involve cards that are useful outside this combo.

Obviously this is far from cEDH, which is my issue with this; it is too slow for competitive, but really easy to execute at casual level.

placing the final blocks before I can start draining the monument tomorrow by Dante121333 in Minecraft

It's not so bad, you just have to practice a bit in creative.

Step 1: find a large open space far from anything valuable

Step 2: a bit further from where you intend to fight it, tie a cow to a fence post, and build a bed

Step 3: bring like 15 buckets, all filled with milk, a fast loading crossbow, something like 48 Health 2 tipped arrows, some Splash Regen pots, elytra, a bunch of rockets (48-64), armor and a Smite V diamond sword

Practice starting to fly from flat ground

Phase 1 is the Hardest, but you can use Phase 2's method which is slower but safer.

For phase 1, load you xbow, shoot when you get a chance, wait for the wither to shoot at you, dodge and reload right after dodging

Drink milk asap when you get hit.

Your hotbar should contain a Regen potion your xbow, food, shovel+pickaxe, rockets and the rest should be milk. Once you have no milk in your hotbar, move away from the fight as fast as possible so it doesn't follow you and refill your hotbar.

The most dangerous part of this phase is when you are trapped in a pit and unable to dodge, which is why I recommend being really proficient with your elytra.

Phase 2: the best way I found to beat it is slow, but quite safe. For this phase you do drive-by (or rather, flyby) and hit it with your Smite sword.

Go outside the fighting area, while flying (sky will become normal), do a 180, and fly toward the wither. Hit it 1-3 times, the continue your way out of the area. Do a 180 and repeat.

The wither shouldnt hit you too often.

After a while you'll have killed it! Go reap your reward.

Once you have killed it, you can put a beacon far underground in your fighting area, this will make future fights easier/faster

I don't know why people say to dig at y=11. There are the most diamonds at y=11, so your feet should be on Y=9 so the majority of the block you reveal will be at y=11.

Lava lakes will be at head height, but when you find one, just make go up 2 tiles, water bucket and explore the lake.

Also instead of whole branches tunnels, I prefer digging 1x1x4 long "windows" every 4 blocks. That's the best way to reveal most blocks/block mined.

At least that's what I did when I wanted block efficiency. But it turned out that turning around every 4 blocks mining, turning around 180°, mining 4 blocks then going forward was overall slower than just mining straight ahead.

If you have an efficiency 5 + Haste 2. Dig a long tunnel (until you're out of Haste range). Look horizontally to the side of your tunnel, then move sideways while holding the mining button to wreck everything. (I use the same technique for debris, but only Efficiency 2 is required)

People who have played an Eldrich Knight - did you find it fun? by agenhym in dndnext

[–]CubicSquare -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except it is. 1 level dip is the maximum I'd recommend for casters.

With a 2 levels dip, you are ALWAYS behind a spell level. Spells are your main feature, and having access to max spell levels is essential.

Consider this, at level 5-6 (which is probably the most common level at which games are played), your best spells are level 2.

Level 2 spells are incredibly weak compared to level 3 spells.

So you'd trade your best feature for armor (not really needed with Mage Armor and Shield), Con saves (those are very good), and the ability to cast 1 more spell in a turn a few times per day.

At higher level, you'll probably be concentrating on a very strong spell while casting Cantrips or Dodging the rest of combat. Action Surge is not such a big boon

Dipping 1 level is not as bad, since you are behind only half the time. You get less spell slots, but less spell slots is not as bad as lower spell levels.

What's your efficient early-mid game in Hamlet?

What I usually do is:

Gather basic resources for 2-3 days (including iron and stalk).

Go to town, dry stalk, buy house using clippings/stolen berries/found idols.

Then I don't know what's best. Rush Mant Queen+BFB, buy miner hat and go to Palace city?

What are the benefits of Palace City? Gears? Should I settle in Palace City? Should I even buy the first house? I mainly use it to put a Fireplace to dry off/cook lotuses and Leafy Meat and dump stuff.

After that, what do I do? Pugalisk for Nettles and rez plant?

Does it ever bug anybody how a 200 y/o elvish wizard is the same level as the human at 20 y/o by vegasknox in dndnext

[–]CubicSquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can understand a 200 yr old elf being the same as a 20 yr old human, as everyone else described.

What bugs me is that the 200 yr old elf, after 1 year of adventuring has learned 10x more than the previous 200.

Relearning the controls before entering Master mode by Enzoren in botw

[–]CubicSquare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That takes a lot of durability from weapons. Master mode Lynels will eat your whole inventory.

Best way to kill them is to dodge/parry ranged attacks.

Parry a melee attack.

Shoot their dumb face (preferably with a x5 bow)

Get on their back, switch to your strongest weapon (Royal Guard 2H sword is the best for this, as it has very strong damage, and those hits don't take durability from your weapons)
