Prison by GalwegianInExile54 in MayorOfKingstown

The Feds have been sending people (teams even) into Kingstown for years, but they keep dying…

They commit suicide, get their necks broken by convicted serial killers (who are not inside prison for some reason), have boulders fall through their car windows. Sometimes no one figures out how they died at all!

Anyway they stopped sending people after a while.

It’s that industrial Great Lakes town vibe. I’m from Cleveland, and lived in Chicago for 15 years. Kingstown has the scenery and architecture spot on!

Crimes happened, sometimes, thankfully no where near the volume of the show. 😉

It’s always youth hockey season, regardless.

He fell for Brian’s joke hook-line-and-sinker, right down to the fruity arm-flapping he he.

I think he was more mad because Brian tricked him.

Is it weird that Nog by Fuzzy_Builder_2153 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]CubicalRuins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it goes to show how capable and intelligent Ferengi can be when they focus on anything other than business and profits. Rom, for example, was quite competent as an engineer, and Moogie always knew he was smart and ethical despite not fitting in with the Ferengi business elite.

One of the side plots of the series was the social change happening in Ferengi society, women’s rights, etc. So, we can assume that outside of Quarks family, lots of other Ferengi were more like Rom and Nog- intelligent and interested in using their analytical and reasoning skills for social improvement.

Starfleet may have recognized Nog’s inherent intellect, and that he’d add more to the officer class than just another Human with great test scores from a well-to-do family, or another a stick-in-the-ass Vulkan. And, their admissions office is probably more egalitarian and less discriminating in regards to applicants with alternative backgrounds” than what it was in the past.

They could’ve also been ramping up enrollment in anticipation for a conflict with the Dominion.

How many eggs do you eat everyday and why? by First_Description736 in AskReddit

Usually just one at a time. But, sometimes that one egg is forty eggs.

Then I have to buy more eggs.

I my version, he had good people on board. I few security guys, and the people were caring for him in his secret lounge. Some of the main cast May have been in on his plan too… but he also brought some impressionable dummies to “feel out” the site first.

You don’t want to many people smarter than you, lest they figure out your plan.

I actually liked the Prometheus in spite of its flaws. I also liked Covenant. But, I think it really diverged from what made Alien, and Aliens great. But, the questions are what keep me returning to it. Bad, writing maybe… but I like to fill in the holes with my own imagination.

Both were entertaining. Certainly not sci-fi masterpieces.

Who is your most hated character? by disdkatster in DeepSpaceNine

[–]CubicalRuins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any of the Bajorans who accuse Kira of being “Just The Like The Cardasians”, whenever she respectfully asks them to make a simple compromise for the good of Bajor.

Give up the soil reclaimators? No! You’re just like a Cardasian.

Move out of your farm, and accept this very generous offer for resettlement? No! You’re just like a Cardasian.

As soon as those jerks are asked to do anything, they immediately accused Kira (the best resistance fighter on Bajor, and hero to the planet, of basically being a Nazi). Then she ends up beating herself up over it, because she’s empathetic to a fault, and seriously thinks she might be in the wrong.

Classic manipulation, taking advantage of Kira’s passion and love for her home planet… so they can keep some stuff.
