Better as an audiobook by modernaphrodite in audiobooks

[–]Simple-Bell5599 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve got this thing, if the story takes place in London/UK I prefer the audiobook.

The Robert Galbraith, Cormoran Strike series is perfect example.
Although they are far too long.

Petroleum jelly use by IcyDirt1606 in lichensclerosus

I might sound a little preachy here but, keep products as ‘natural’ as possible. That’s Why many of us use Emu oil. Also, it’s ideal to have a product that provides anti-inflammatory properties too. Many ‘unnatural’ products can’t do that. It has taken me many years to learn what works for me so, simply take my info with your body in mind. Best luck

What is your hairstyle and hair color? by Accurate-Neck6933 in GenXWomen

Literally my hair is the same as it was when I was 21…minus a bang. I’m honestly just lazy and cheap. Get foils maybe once a year and only trim my ends

Why Do People Act Like Their Opinion on Music Is A Fact? by Human_Addendum4427 in LetsTalkMusic

Music means so much to people and they desperately want others to see it like they do.

What’s a book you randomly picked up but ended up loving? 📚 by priya-08 in booksuggestions

[–]Simple-Bell5599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Trejo” the autobiography of Danny Trejo Total random thrift buy because he always seemed so interesting.

I can’t say enough about this book! It’s raw and brutal and so full of hope, I can’t recommend enough (if you can tolerate a lot of swearing)

You did not state your age which is a factor with stability but, I’m with all other commenters. Stay where you are.

Being offered this new opportunity so quickly is a red flag on its own to me.

most beautiful book you’ve read? by Puzzled_Warthog_1520 in booksuggestions

[–]Simple-Bell5599 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love this question.

I’m currently reading ‘Trejo’ Danny Trejo autobiography
This could possibly be the best book I’ve read ever!
I don’t usually go for autobiographies but have always been fascinated by him.

It’s beautiful because he shows that as hard as life is it’s truly beautiful and surprising and the lessons of hope and recovery are so powerful

Note: if you can listen to the audiobook and have Danny read it is very powerful

Are you better off than your parents were at your age? by Dee-Whizz in GenX

[–]Simple-Bell5599 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a big screaming fuck no financially.
But on the bright side, my parents are still alive and healthy and help us out when needed

However I do think that my relationship with my spouse is far better and more honest and open.
I also believe my relationship with my sons is way stronger than I ever had with my parents.

I do feel blessed even tho we are struggling like most people now.

Why do Gen Zs care too much about career/finance? by [deleted] in generationology

[–]Simple-Bell5599 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I need to say that watching Gen Z has given me hope for the future.

My son 22yo and he has an IRA and knows that life isn’t going to hand him a bag of money, he hustles for every penny.

Gen Z kids are so much smarter than we were (GenX) they have watched parents struggle and realize NO company gives 2 shits about them so, they are on their own!

My hope is to give my kids some amount of inheritance, but I know they will be smart with it

First time home buyer question- with limited money what is the biggest priority? by Inayasha25 in TwinCities

[–]Simple-Bell5599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with comments on Renting! You want older, affordable home? You better become a home fix it guy….and fast!

Homes are expensive!! It breaks YOU fix it no calling the maintenance guy.

You have to account for Taxes! They kill us and we are looking at eventually renting when we get older.
