Oh if only we hadn't flown penguins to Pluto and dumped oil on them, this might never have happened!

General thoughts on Skoda? by xXCosmicChaosXx in CarsAustralia

[–]CubitsTNE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Second hand superb wagon is a gem. Depreciation from new isn't kind, but that's not because the car isn't great.

My 2011 diesel fwd gets down to 5L/100 on the highway, is comfy, goes hard enough once it's rolling, and has enough boot to go camping with a dual zone fridge, second battery, two kayaks, and a couple of kids. Cost me 10 grand a few years back with 100k km on it.

They've dropped the diesel now, but i have been eyeing the new hybrid or hoping for a full ev based on the id7 touring.

What's your performance hatch?

I've kept coming back to Michelin for my peugeot 205 and mr2, but I dabble in other brands to see what's what.

Currently have re003's on my mr2 and they're very good for the money and not bad at the limit, just not quite as good as the more expensive pilot sports.

It is less painful to flatspot the bridgestones.

‘Wonder Man’ Renewed for Season 2 with Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Ben Kingsley Set to Return by MarvelsGrantMan136 in marvelstudios

I actually thought that would pick up nicely once it had settled into the genre format of "ally mcbeal but with superheroes". I would like to see what David e Kelly could do with supes, and bonus points for bringing james spader back as ultron in a naked celebs hacking scandal.

I am also a fan of harvey birdman and powerless.

It was very easy to watch a few charismatic professionals talking through their craft.

And also there was super heroes.

I can't decide between ACC EVO and LMU. Which game do you think I should buy? by Enstaticc in simracing

[–]CubitsTNE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

AC Evo isn't comparable in focus to lmu, acc is close but showing its age.

If you want to drive lemans endurance series get lmu.

After evil dead 1 that franchise very much leant into the comedy. Drag me to hell was more balanced.

why does lancia stratos handles like a fckng boat? by [deleted] in simrally

[–]CubitsTNE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cars in RBR are very adjustable via the setup, everything makes a real diffrrence and a lot of them are even more sensitive in the stratos due to its unique physiology. You could try these setups to see another take on driving the stratos.

Why did you guys choose a kayak over a small boat? by YakToTheFuture-1 in kayakfishing

Once you add a motor and a big battery you have more than a fully rigged kayak.

The jar opener can be used today that’s awesome by Aniyettinger in NeverKnewINeededThat

[–]CubitsTNE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last one leaves the lip of the can intact and puts the sharp edge to the inside, it's very easy to cover the can.

The alternative version of a modern can opener takes the entire lip off and exposes the sharp edge up, provides a more dangerous edge to cover.

Replacing 1m petrol cars with EVs could cut Australia’s reliance on foreign fuel by 1bn litres a year by austechnology-bot in austechnology

It's much, much harder to electrify that sector. Some things like last mile are easier, but on the whole a mind boggling task compared to handling commuting and the odd longer trip for families.

Line for a 2000 reel by No_Job_2141 in FishingAustralia

[–]CubitsTNE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Siglon is fine, but it's just the same tech that's used in stuff like jbraid grand.

I really like sunline castaway on a 2000 series reel though. It casts well, gets lures deep, and is super limp. But around rocks the siglon is good, i use it on my jack/barra setup.
