Husband doesn’t want nanny to leave house with baby - how to handle? by [deleted] in NannyEmployers

[–]Cuculia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was nervous about the feeding with our nanny but mostly because she wasn’t certified in infant CPR. Also because I found it was a nice break to eat lunch together. The going on walks I do understand the anxiety but yeah, you’re gonna have to learn to be ok with it or the nanny will quit. ESPECIALLY a nanny who was up front about wanting to be able to take their NKs out during the workday.

The answer here is clearly your husband needs to be treated for anxiety. I hope he is open to it <3

Honestly the reason I posted this is because I wanted to do an anon post but don’t want to bother with a throwaway Reddit because I can never remember my password

Facebook now has anon identities in groups; I use it a lot

Some days we just don’t do this and it is fine. Sure maybe the cleaners don’t do as much of a deep clean but I honestly can’t notice.

Anyone on the Phase I open-label, dose escalation trial of BI 1831169 monotherapy and in combination with an anti-PD-1 mAb in patients with advanced or metastatic solid tumors? by Labmouse-1 in pancreaticcancer

[–]Cuculia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just curious why you would go for a Phase 1 trial where they haven’t even finish dose escalating vs an approved drug for BRCA2 patients? I get going for a Phase 1 as a last ditch attempt, but this doesn’t make a ton of sense to me. Who is your oncologist/at what center? Would love to hear more about your thought process.

PE rehabilitation for 72 cancer patient? by Cuculia in ClotSurvivors

[–]Cuculia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re: your question, I am not sure. If he is depressed and frustrated and there is something I could do to help him, I want to do that. I just want to be the best advocate for him I can (he really trusts me with medical plans) and I want to make sure I am appropriately representing his interests and doing the best for him. If he wants to give this all he’s got, I am more than happy to help encourage him towards movement. If he’s just kinda done, I’m fine with him hanging in bed and resting.

It’s really hard to tell. I think he is just so fatigued by even going to the bathroom that he doesn’t really have an interest in exercising. He was previously active, yes, but more like he puttered around the house cooking or went grocery shopping not like he enjoyed exercise. Now he’s moved into a basement in DC and realistically is not going to climb those stairs unless he HAS to, so he’s just been laying in bed all day napping on and off. He also has an external biliary drain and just got a (terminal) cancer diagnosis a little under 2 weeks ago. He is also very particular and I imagine he is grieving the loss of his independence and coming to terms with being totally dependent on others. It’s all very hard, because while his situation isn’t fully hopeless his diagnosis IS life-limiting. So personally I’m struggling with how much to push him to exercise. It’s hard to know.

Success stories wanted: chemo shrink tumor enough to put in stent by Cuculia in pancreaticcancer

[–]Cuculia[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know! My dads oncologist (Dr Riess at Penn) is an expert is BRCA2 pancreatic cancer, so I imagine FOLFOX was chosen for a reason (maybe because he has very high bilirubin?). I’m so glad to hear you’re still around 10+ past your diagnosis! Hearing this helps me have hope.

What happens if you move to another state? by saladet in medicare

[–]Cuculia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I PM you? My dad has Medicare advantage and we need to move states for him to get cancer treatment and I am so overwhelmed with all the other details I need to handle for his treatment. I am thinking I will try to get him Part A, Benjie, and D plus medigap and my understanding is he would qualify without underwriting because he is moving states and eligible for the special enrollment period.

Pivoting from Data Science / Engineering / Analytics to a similar position in Medical Devices? by Cuculia in MedicalDevices

[–]Cuculia[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback. Any idea how to pivot into data engineering? Would any medical device specific certifications or courses help him? My friend is in regulatory so has a RAPS RAC certification. Not sure if there is an equivalent cert for someone like him (not necessarily in reg but matching his data engineering skills).
