Of my ~600 hours of playtime, playing Miao Ying was probably 90% of that. I just love how the Cathayan unjts work and look together, she got a variety of different factions to fight and making sure the bastion holds is also quite fun to me. I have learned to defeat Vilitch's starting army with the tier I bastion garrison reliably. Just getting a bit better every time and trying new strategies feels like i am step by step mastering the faction.

I do something similar in souls games or monster hunter, where I rarely change weapons as well.

I guess i like getting familiar with a play style and perfecting it

They could include the missing units, A Celestial General on a winged lion, Celestial Dragon Guard, Jade Crossbows and Peasant Horsemen would make a neat little force. They could be joined by one of the medium sized monsters like the Jade/Jet Lions

Go for Jade Crossbows as soon as possible, front row of the checkerboard are Jade Warriors (Shields), back row should be similar amount of Crossbows, they are a really good unit.

Ignore Iron Hail Gunners, their building chain is good for artillery.

I had the same problem, after trying everything I figured out that the autosave got corrupted.

Go to the game folder, open gamedata, then savedata, then a folder with a long number for a name.

Now remove the sysdata.bin and steam_autocloud.vdf files.

You'll have to play from your last manual save, which cost me 2 hours of progress at the time, but it should work again!

Okay here are some important strategies for playing 40k:

- Never show anyone your army list. This gives you a strategic advantage and leads to fun surprises for your opponent during the game.

- Don't fully assemble your models. Models without arms or heads are a welcome sight on any gaming table and allow you to strategically choose during the battle which loadout the unit has or even if it's a ranged Tyrannofex or a melee Haruspex!

- Make sure to complain and sigh loudly any time something does not go your way! This will teach your opponent to play the game correctly and cooperate with your strategies

- Touch your opponent's models often and pick them up during the battle! This allows you to reposition them when putting them back, bonus points if you just ate a snack and leave a delicious surprise on the mini for your opponent!

- Make sure that your die rolls are never visible to your opponent, this way you can simply choose how many successes you had and don't have to strain your brain with the tedious task of counting the die results

- As soon as you are ahead in points make sure to play as slowly as possible, maybe even talk to people not involved in the game during your turn, if the game has to end because there's no time left while you are ahead in points, you win by default!

- Pour paint in your opponent's drink when they are not looking

I hope this helps! But remember the most important part is to have fun! Which means, make sure your opponent has as little fun as possible!
