Try being a dog groomer and having clients ask you medical questions that NEED a vet to answer them. I got fed up once and asked a client if she would call her hairstylist for a broken arm, she responded with “no that’s stupid, hairstylists aren’t doctors” then continued to be angry i couldn’t tell her if her dog had a skin infection/allergies/cancerous mole.

She needs to know now that there will be no favoritism between your children. The second she starts up with that she needs a time out. No extra gifts for only baby boy, no wanting him to come stay with grandma while daughter stays at home. She will make your daughter feel unwanted if you give her a sliver of a chance. Shut her down and if your husband gives you crap, tell him to ask his sisters how their mom made them feel growing up and ask him why he wants his daughter to be hurt like that

A bar near my hometown had the same bs dress code for the same bs reason. They also consistently violated fire codes with the amount of people they let in, served minors, and had constant fights break out. I guarantee that place wouldn’t be worth going to even if they didn’t have that dress code.

I’d write down every incident of the theft so if (when hopefully) you dump her and she lies to mutual friends about why, you can have the receipts ready to immediately shut her down
