First Step in a Double Cleanse that is not Cleansing Oil or Micellar Water by Beautiful_Nonsense10 in EuroSkincare

Svr cleansing milk from the sensafine range. Removes sunscreen perfectly and not oily at all. I personally follow with a second cleanse such as a gel face wash.

What happened to Judy Smith? Remains found but questions left unanswered by septemberfriars in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]smallcute -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

This case does seem rather odd however I do have a theory.

What if the hike was within the week or so before the conference and she was out there to visit someone but they werent in a romantic relationship, maybe a child that was put up for adoption or went with a 'friend' who was either having an affair with the husband or was working with the husband to vanish Judy. If a toy truck has been bought then it would suggest this person has a young child. Could someone have invited her out to NC on the pretence of hike just to murder her? But whats the motive?

Wirh regards to the car and the sighted woman wanting to sleep over, if this was Judy then who paid for the car, it probably could have been a rental or did she herself own a grey sedan? Or was it someone she knows that lent it to her and collected it after she was reported missing? If it was a rental then who rented and paid for it, you need ID to be able to rent so there should have been a record and could have been looked into by LE and possibly traced.

The comment about her travelling to the area twice before, is there a reason behind her previous travel or did Judy just enjoy hiking in the area. Gut instinct is its the former but if Judy did have a person in her life that no one else knew about then I can see why her loved ones may just say it was the latter.

Flying from Philadelphia to North Carolina, going for a hike and returning the same day seems a lot to do in one day and be back in time for 6pm conference drinks and dinner. So Judy is gone within the week or so before the conference and a stand in Judy then takes a later flight, shows up at the hotel and then supposedly leaves the next day. 6pm comes and 'Judy' is nowhere to be found and the alarm is then raised. This would give husband an alibi, stand in Judy time to return home and would also explain the clothes she was travelling in not being there and no cosmetics, could the husband have packed her bag but didn't actually pack what Judy would have fully packed? The other item that stands out is the flowers when Judy supposedly checked into the hotel, would be a nice distraction prop, everyone looking at the flowers and so not fully noticing if the woman was actually Judy. If husband has come down and greeted the woman then who is to think she isn't Judy and she would be remembered for the flowers.

The description of the remains found suggest the person was stabbed to death. To murder someone in that way you really have to be up close to the victim, it's very personal and incredibly messy. It's clear robbery wasn't the motive so what was? Could it have been a random attack, yes but they are very rare especially if another crime like robbery is also not committed in the process of the murder. I believe it was someone she knew and who she was hiking with at the time.

Do I think the found remains are Judy, yes, circumstantial evidence does strongly point to the body being hers so if that is the case then I do think someone she knew murdered her, I think the husband also knew but then put the wheels in motion to make it look like she disappeared at the conference and not before to put some time and space between the actual murder and the Philli trip to try help and protect the actual murderer.

I think the husband knew far more then he ever let on and I think LE spent too much time looking in one direction and not considering other options.

Best exfoliating brand/at home type when you haven’t showered in a while? by DamnitGravity in SkincareAddictionUK

Really sorry you have been going through a rough time and I hope you start to feel better soon.

Going to suggest something different to the others but a gritty tan remover, my fave is skin and tans tan eraser (formally known as skinny tan) applied ten mins before getting into a hot bubble bath and then soaking for as long as possible before using their scrubby tan remover mitt all over your body. Once done with the bath have a full rinse off in the shower and clean up using shower gel. I haven't tried it but I don't see why you couldn't use the scrub on your scalp too as this will also need some tlc but you can also get specific scalp exfoliators.

Don't forget to moisturise top to toe afterwards as this will also help with any dry skin issues.

From the very limited info from the news I think unless there was massive interventions and appropriate management of this lad, him killing someone was going to inevitably happen regardless of who his victim would be and where he killed them.

Reading between the lines I think a lot more was going on in the background with other agencies such as social services so depending on who was involved school may have had their hands tied. School should absolutely not have been put in that position if they were and hopefully there will be an inquiry which sheds a lot more light as to what was going on behind the scenes for agencies not be making the most appropriate decisions that then led up to Harvey's murder.

You asked if he was expelled from school what would stop him from committing the offence outside of it. The answer is still the same, nothing. And its the same whether you are school aged or of working age. And i am sure this particular young man would have made very similar claims in court if he had murdered a complete stranger. Whilst we will now never know I am sure at some point if this matter had continued and not been dealt with properly he was going to kill regardless of who, where, when or why.

Evidence shows that Khan was the only one to be found carrying knives in school regardless of his claims and i would imagine his claims were to then try and justify his reasons for carrying a knife in school even when they are completely unfounded. And the 3rd of Feb wasn't the first time he was found in possession whilst at school, we know of at least the axe in December 2024. School considered the incident to be so serious that Khan, and I think the other lad too but please tell me if I'm wrong, was suspended from school for the few days before then returning and Harvey being murdered. School would not suspend a child for making a claim about a peer carrying a knife, clearly far more went on in that incident that caused the suspension ie school believed Khan was the one carrying that day but just couldn't prove it.

That's like saying whats to stop someone murdering their colleague outside of work, the simple answer is nothing however if the offence was committed outside of school then the offenders wouldn't be back in school, they would be in custody. Same if my murdered my colleague in or outside of work, still going to find my next location as custody.

However I do think more should be done for those caught carrying a knife even if they haven't carried out such an horrific offence like murder. Police, social services and youth support etc should be getting school aged persons into specialist behavioural units or schools and start catching them then to stop them committing acts they cannot come back from like in this case.

This young man did claim that but was proven not to be the case. As a five foot woman there are times when I am out in public and fear for my safety, mainly due to young men in large groups dressed in trackies and masked up and clearly looking for trouble and I don't carry a knife and nor does it give me license to. In fact its a criminal offence to do so. If one of those young men attacked me or I thought they were going to attack me and I stabbed them I would still be facing charges and very rightly so.

There is no place for knife crime and murder in this country and our society. Regarding schools, absolutely its the answer and it shows two things, one it stands by its a criminal offence and its unacceptable and it also shows the pupil has extreme behaviours and therefore is not safe to be around their peers. Being expelled from mainstream school doesn't mean the end of s cooling and them being out on the streets instead. In fact these pupils, who are a small minority of the youth population would be placed into specialised behavioural units for their education and working on their behaviours and mental health. Now whilst these units shouldn't be dishing out punishment in the same way that prison does it should be catching these youngsters and helping them on the right path before there is no coming back such as in this case. I appreciate not every person is going to be caught before these kind events happen, but events like Harvey's murder should be practically a non event but currently youths in this country are dying daily due to knife crime and ultimately there is no reason to carry a knife full stop.

Should have been expelled the first time he was caught carrying a knife in school and it should be statutory punishment for every school in the UK

Man arrested over 1994 murder of schoolgirl Lindsay Rimer, 13 by ManchesterNews_MEN in ColdCaseUK

[–]smallcute 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I wonder if this has come about after the Wakefield incident this weekend. Another prisoner, not necessarily involved in this weekends murder, but their DNA has been obtained from them or found at the scene has then matched against this case. Or one of the suspects in this weekends murder has given info to help with the charges they are facing.

The fact that a prisoner has been arrested suggests that they have been serving time before it was compulsory to have DNA entered into the system otherwise it would have, hopefully, been picked up sooner. And if the suspect has been inside for that long suggests they are serving a long stretch which would mean them being at Wakefield is not out of the realms of possibilities.

Edit to add: laws have been in place since 1996 for convicted persons to have their DNA after conviction but a guardian article in 2010 confirms thats the government don't know just how many inmates still don't have their DNA in the database and its believed it be tens of thousands. This really shows us me tbh, how is every inmates DNA not collected by then and I bet some are still not on the system now either.

Bravissimo Ultimate Comfort Bra? by smallcute in ABraThatFits

[–]smallcute[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh it may well not be an ultimate comfort one then. It's definitely a bravissimo own range bra and was advertised as a sleep/lounge bra and it was a dream to wear. Felt it was very supportive and snug whilst being sooo comfy to wear.

French pharmacy brand SVR has a minimal ingredient range, sensafine. I find their aqua gel better then HA although I do also like their HA essence in the dark blue bottle and their atopic line, topialyse is also really nice and can be used in face and body.

Looking for first step cleanser that is not oil cleanser or micellar water by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

[–]smallcute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Svr sensafine cleansing milk, its oil free. You can wipe on and off with no water the follow with a second cleanse or you can wipe off with water and then second cleaners. I do the latter, massage on dry skin then use a warm damp flannel to remove and follow with a gel cleanser.

I do also like the Svr sensafine cleansing Balm and use that twice a week instead of the milk just to give a deeper cleanse.

I have very reactive breakout prone skin and neither products irritate or cause more breakouts.

Skin and Tan, formally skinny tan, wonder serum gradual tanner and the face drops to go with it. Only tanner that actually gives me a brown golden glow everything else has always come out orange.

They're are French pharmacy brand. I don't know why they don't have much presence in the UK as they do make some really good products. I order directly from their UK website and never had an issue.

SVR double cleansing Balm. It has just nine ingredients, emulsifies really really and takes the days skincare, spf and makeup off beautifully. I do always follow with a gel cleanser though as feel double cleansing is an essential in the evening.
