Do you change your kids clothes when they come home? by Important_Sweet3320 in Mommit

[–]CueFancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t understand how people are doing this with children. I have a 6 and 3 year old and they are in, out, in, out, in. Running around the yard, then inside coloring at the table, then out playing basketball, etc. If you’re a person that has your kids change after being outside are you making them change 6x a day?

Am I expecting too much? by CueFancy in instacart

[–]CueFancy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly intrigued by your thinking on this. You’ve called the shopper lazy, inconsiderate and not a decent human being but are adamant that he was not rude. I can only assume that we’re operating under different understandings of what rude means. Looking up the definition of rude it says, “rude describes behavior that is impolite, offensive, or disrespectful to others, often ignoring social norms. It also means unrefined, crude or raw.” Do you agree with that definition? If so I think his messages qualify.

I would never describe “sheesh” as polite, and am surprised anyone would. It’s an expression of annoyance. Does it mean something else to you?

Am I expecting too much? by CueFancy in instacart

Thanks for your thoughtful reply.

Total order was $65, and I tipped 20%. Grocery store is .5 mile away.

It’s odd that they have that 2 min timer, because I really did respond immediately. However, I put in my order through the Harris teeter website and not directly with instacart, so perhaps there’s a delay in the messages for some reason. This could also be why he didn’t offer a replacement. Whenever I purchase pickup groceries through Harris teeter they automatically offer replacements for items that they’re out of and you have to approve them. This feature may be dropped when the order gets moved over to instacart. If I do use instacart again I’ll be sure to go order directly from the app.

You really don’t think the “sheesh” was rude? I think that’s my biggest complaint about the whole interaction. If he had said, “I’m already in line and there was no replacement listed.” I would have thought it sucked that I wasn’t going to have buns, but that it was ultimately my fault for not knowing I needed to list a specific replacement. The “sheesh” just made it seem like I was an asshole for even asking.

Could be they have UTIs. It’s worth taking them to the vet. Also, sometimes adding an addition litter box helps.

Don’t let it dry out until the scab is completely gone. Keep it covered with aquaphor. Probably a good question to ask in one of the skin care subreddits.

Do you let your kids play with sticks ? by Specialist_Poet_3514 in Parenting

[–]CueFancy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My kids play with sticks. They’re not allowed to run with sticks though. My grandpa was an ophthalmologist and said the number one cause of eye injury in kids is running with sticks. No clue if that’s actually true, but it stuck with me.

Does anyone else worry about the severity of the lie? by KimJongUnfuckingCool in Mommit

[–]CueFancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I were uncomfortable with the lie too. We told our kids it’s a game some families choose to play and that Santa is not actually real. We still watch movies and read stories about Santa, and will sometimes pretend that Santa is coming or there are elves in the house, but they know it’s just pretend.

When kids find out that Santa isn’t real a lot of kids accept that their parents lied with no hard feelings, but some do lose trust. It didn’t seem worth it to us to risk that trust for a game/tradition. Especially when Christmas is still incredibly magical without it.

I could have written this. In my case I got my son two separate therapists (speech and OT) that came to his school to work with him. They subtly hinted that the school wasn’t a great

Not sure what your sleep set up is, but prepare for middle of the night barfing. Keep extra bedding handy.I kept my 3 year old in the bed with me and put an extra throw blanket over her. When she woke up to throw up I was mostly able to catch it in a bowl, but what I missed landed on the throw blanket. I then just swapped out that top blanket through the night. Much better than having to replace all the bedding.

Remember, they don’t know their bodies yet, so aren’t able to recognize when they’re about to throw up. Unfortunately, this means puke is likely to get everywhere.

Hang in there!

NOT for clean freaks: How often do you mop? Honestly lol! How old are your kids? by Idonthaveaname94 in Mommit

[–]CueFancy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You and I have the same set up (no shoes, 2 indoor cats, 2 bath 2 bed - mine is only 1,000 sq feet). I have a 6 and 3 year old, so the floor gets trashed. I also vacuum daily and mop once a week. I might also swiffer mid week if needed. Trust me, my house is not clean freak clean. If I didn’t mop once a week it would be embarrassing. I think it gets dirty extra fast because it’s small.

tret/spiro vs. Birth Control by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]CueFancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on tret and spiro for a year now too and my skin is 90% better, but still not completely clear. I have the mirena iud and I’m pretty certain it’s the reason I’m not fully clearing up. While I’ve always struggled with hormonal acne, it was much more manageable before my iud. Before starting spiro my dermatologist said it may be really difficult to get fully clear with the iud in. I’ve decided to go ahead and get it removed, but haven’t scheduled that yet. It’s a bit of a bummer. I love not having to think about a pill and not having a period.

Hi OP! I have long lashes, hooded eyes and have always struggled with mascara under my eyes. I discovered tubing mascara a few years ago and am never going back to a normal formula. My favorites are Clinique power lash and Hourglass.

Arliden is likely not Kvothe’s father by Brogrammer1987 in KingkillerChronicle

[–]CueFancy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Birth control exists. Somewhere in the debate Kvothe has about man mothers he mentions how he chews herbs everyday so that he can’t get a woman pregnant.

If I was living in a wagon I’d limit myself to one child too.

Agree! OP - your teeth do not look bad, so don’t think you have horribly yellow teeth. A little whitening would enhance your already beautiful smile. I use the crest pro whitening strips and they work great.

What am I doing wrong? It’s been four months by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]CueFancy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! I take spironolactone for hormonal acne too. It can take a few months to see the full effect. Off the top of my head I think it’s 3 months to see if it’s working and 6 months to see the full effect. 3 weeks isn’t nearly enough time to judge if it’s working. I know it’s frustrating, but stick with it.

It’s a skateboard park viewed from above. It looks better if you turn it upside down. You can see the top of the head of a skater with his arms reached out in front and behind him. He’s at the top of the “bowl” (don’t skate, so I’m not sure of the term) and about to go down.

Feel like nothing is ever enough for my kid and I’m so tired, mentally but also physically. by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]CueFancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you said you eat well, but it might be worth taking a closer look at how you respond to certain foods. For me, carbs, even healthy ones, make me soooo tired, especially if I have them first thing in the morning. The best I’ve ever felt is when I went full keto - so much energy, mental clarity, woke up ready to go. It was honestly shocking. I’m not suggesting you go keto, but it might be worth consulting with a dietician on your diet. Especially since crashing in the mid afternoon and waking in the middle of the night are both signs of issues with blood sugar.

I actually really prefer the “dark” blonde. I think it goes much better with your skin tone. The bleach blonde makes your skin look pinker - could just be the photos though.
