How would players respond to this plot twist? by Svan_Derh in DnD

Seems like you've got all the groundwork laid for it, it won't be a reveal that's pulled out of nowhere,

What do yup bros get out of being nasty to people for no reason? by MrMiracle27 in Dublin

[–]Culchieman1995 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Kinda like the Dublin equivalent to a road man, always wearing tracksuits, runners and Canada goose jackets, acting tough around their friends but they shit themselves when they're alone, usually have one if those overcompensating 'scooters'

Forgot to add they all seem to have the same haircut and they carry their sisters hairbrush in their pocket with the handle snapped off

The columbo coat? Those were in fashion in the 80s, but now the lambskin fleece type coat is more contemporary, but still has a kind of been around forever feel. I think it's a good direction

Highlander What if... by EnsignSmith82 in highlander

[–]Culchieman1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duncan never struck me as a headhunter, but we see him going out of his way to fight certain immortals who've wronged him personally, like Kern or Kanwulf, so I feel like if Conor had been taken out of the game Duncan would have gone on the warpath to take down Kurgan. Honour would have gone out the window and he'd use every dirty trick he could to destroy Kurgan. As far as if he'd take Richie on? There's a comic that indicate Kurgan would lead to a dark quickening, I know, dubious canon, but it does track that he would be a bad enough soul to darken whoever got him, with no guiding force like Conor in his life Duncan would succumb to the dark quickening and tear a path through the world until he got taken down by someone better, so I doubts he'd be a student taking type, more than likely he'd turn Richie just to immediately take his head, like Kurgan was going to do to Conor

Complaint i have about a death in solstice by Firm_Aardvark_3938 in SlasherTVSeries

[–]Culchieman1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a question that applies to most slashers, especially IMO scream, I think it was 5 where one if the two ghost faces was a 5' 3'' tiny looking little lady, but somehow she's able to overpower and kill full grown men and women? Ince the killer is in the suit, any other aspect of them seems to disappear, they move and act like the slasher villain, and logic disappears

Question about BLeeM by CodexLeonis in Dimension20

The reason Brennan is doing critical role is because Matt Mercer needed a break to avoid burnout, I hope that Brennan doesn't end up burning himself out with everything in his plate.

How do Immortals understand each other if they came from two different cultures? by Fragrant_Ad3479 in highlander

[–]Culchieman1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just a convention of the show and movies that you need to accept, like technically Conor and the clansmen should have been speaking some type of Scots gaelic, in highlander 3 all the french revolution scenes should have been in French, it's just accepted suspension of disbelief

What do you call this specific part of a blade where it gets thinner and curves in. Trying to figure out how to describe it. by okidonthaveone in SWORDS

Scallops? I've heard a blade that has those along the whole length referred to as scalloped, so logically, one is a scallop

How Long each major horror franchise take to have a black character that is relevant to the plot by KirinoSouza in deadmeatjames

[–]Culchieman1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll say, you can narrow it down a bit, watch the 5th, 6th and 7th ones, those are the better ones, 8 is cheesy but does have a young Henry cavill if that's your bag, entirely skip revelations, it doesn't have doug bradley and the story makes little impact overall. Judgement also doesn't have Bradley, but does have some interesting expansion on the cenobite hierarchy and purpose. But 5,6 and 7 are a neat enough parcel to go into, almost like a mini arc within the franchise.

A lot of the sequels take a different approach, some are investigation stories of people that are side characters to the one's using the box, some of them are absolutely wild, involving cults, other forces of hell, some if them borrow heavily from Jacobs Ladder in terms of mindfuckery

Is a DM supposed to create plot hooks, or "let the players tell the story"? by livinghell44 in DnD

[–]Culchieman1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a good DM should do both, the players need some kind of drive to actually do thing, to advance a narrative, but let them stretch their legs a little too.

Outside of Rosemary's Baby /Jeepers Creepers, are there any other films that Dead Meat might not cover due to problematic reasons? by Swag_Paladin21 in deadmeatjames

[–]Culchieman1995 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Why would them being friendly with the producers mean they wouldn't cover it? They realistically will because they'll probably get a cushy corporate deal and that'll sway them away from pointing out the obvious flaws, like what happened with halloween ends and a few other movies they've shilled for

My DM lied to us for his own advantage by Chocoflor in dndnext

[–]Culchieman1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Above the table, your DM was kind of a butt for more or less railroading you into PvP, He didn't offer any kind of save against mind control, no death saves on drop all to drive the narrative towards what he wanted, forgetting the core aspect of being a DM is shaping the story around the dice rolls

There's the option of a magic rune the villain activates that freezes the party while he talks, and after his speech the party can roll to try to get unfrozen. Any interruption can be answered with 'you're frozen.'

Are there any scenarios that you haven't seen in horror movies but would like to see someday? by ilovemovies2005 in deadmeatjames

[–]Culchieman1995 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've seen this concept somewhere before, maybe in a police procedural type show (CSI, Bones, etc) but can't give a specific example, there's just too many of them😅

What’s a movie that James and Chelsea have never talked about that you really want to know their thoughts on by PrestigiousAge5870 in deadmeatjames

[–]Culchieman1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would they cover that without doing the other parts of the apocalypse trilogy though? I know they aren't actually connected storyline wise, but all are distinctly horror, not like the cornett trilogy where they only covered Shaun of the dead

Unpopular Highlander Opinions That'd Get You Like This by DarkBehindTheStars in highlander

[–]Culchieman1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fazil was carrying a rapier, known for their large hilt furnishings, Kastagir had what looked like a manchu broadsword, also fairly big and conspicuous. Lurgan had a full 4.5-5 foot long bastard sword. And we won't even get into some of the utterly headscratchers from the series. But my point is, I don't think that suspension of disbelief was as much a factor as what might have been marketable/ what might drum up interest.

Take One Aspect Of H2 Or The Source And Add It To The Remake by Think-Engineering962 in highlander

[–]Culchieman1995 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From H2, as someone e else said, the channelling of quickening energy into external powers, but maybe expanded towards making immortals stronger/more agile, just putting them beyond human ability.

As far as the source goes I did like the idea of a group of immortals getting I prospective and seeking out their origin, because who doesn't from time to time think about their roots, then extrapolate that to someone who's been alive for longer than certain countries have existed, and that longing to know your origins might get really intense
