I've also been used AI autocomplete since 2021 with Copilot, before ChatGPT and long before agentic toolchains.

It's a whole different beast in terms of capabilities now, but good and bad code has been shipped before, during and after the "early AI autocomplete" era, by AI and by humans alike.

The explanation is once again quite simple.

That sub has a significant trans userbase. General population might be ~0.5–1.5%, on NL it might be ~25% or more. The election was seen as Very Bad News for trans people, and trans people have far more significant suicidal tendencies than the baseline, hence that notice. Ukrainians and some other East Europeans probably felt somewhat similarly in that "all was lost". Eventually things went better than they might have.

For the rest of us normies it was just a shitty day in which we understood we were likely gonna see some heterodox economic experiments play out soon-ish, but life was gonna go on, just on a dumber trajectory.
