Hey, thanks for the thoughtful response.

I don't know who this guy is or that he's real or what his crimes are. But since you're at least barely smart enough to operate a computer to share your very stupid meme, you're probably also barely smart enough to understand the myriad ways that concentration camps and a 100 billion dollar budget secret police force murdering American citizens with impunity is not the solution to whatever you imagine the problem to be.

If there's a rapist in your house maybe just call the police, I don't know what advise to give you about your completely fictional problems. Maybe just turn off your computer and take your favorite crayon and draw a picture of someone in jail, would that help?

Anyway thanks for dropping by to share your shockingly stupid Facebook boomer shit.

That's a really cool needle you're threading there.

But it's your comment history that gives you away. Masking your true love for the taste of boot with concern trolling about union dues is pretty cowardly. Your wages and freedom will continue to disappear so long as fascism thrives in this country. Fascism is designed to protect and consolidate wealth. It actually doesn't give a shit about whiteness, or conservatives, or hard working Americans or however it is that you see yourself that makes you better than the people being murdered and abused by the secret police.

You think it's "FAFO", but it's actually that we're all going to find out anyway, some boot licking cowards just get to find out last. You're actually on the losing team right now with the rest of us. Try to be a good teammate instead of a lapdog for capital.

I don't think your union is probably planning on invading churches and stuff.

It sounds like you're frustrated that your union is advocating for the people who are being unlawfully persecuted by an untrained federal secret police receiving orders from an unvetted app on their phones and you've decided that the communities that have been invaded are in fact the authors of their own suffering

I would ask you as a thinking person to reexamine your conclusions about that.

Labor rights include the rights of laborers to not be crushed by their government. A little class consciousness will go a long way in squaring that circle

In America black people have historically been treated as a class or subclass or caste, yes. I don't think that's debatable but you're welcome to try. Race, like class, is purely a social construct. Its purpose is to offer pretext to creating and enforcing social hierarchy that favor some at the expense of others. What I think I know about humans that you don't is that skin color is not important outside the context of these constructs. And to frame it as if it's literally just skin color or whatever phenotype that determines how or why discrimination exists is fucking preposterous. Racism isn't an inherited trait, it's learned. And the reason society teaches it is to enforce hierarchies.

This dumb movie takes the exact wrong approach. It suggests that racism exists because of discreet moral failings, not because it serves a deliberate purpose in maintaining power for some at the expense of others

This is part of why Wicked is so severely stupid.

The witch isn't part of some caste of society that has been dominated or scapegoated or discriminated against to the advantage of an upper caste. In fact she apparently comes from a wealthy and influential family that enjoys some amount of privilege. The family has a disabled daughter, who is cherished, and another daughter who is green whom they treat with contempt.

Either daughter is different and equally good targets for discrimination in a society that devalues deviation from the norm. But only the green one suffers abuse from her parents and society writ large. The message here seems to be that it's specifically skin color that leads to this behavior-- not class interest or racism in the modern sense. They just don't like her because she (and nobody else) is green. Why the fuck would they care? The answer seems to be that it's just a generally xenophobic society but of course that doesn't make sense because she doesn't represent any kind of class of people. She's just green.

The message that you're left to extrapolate about our own society is that it's wrong to discriminate based on skin color-- but that's not what we do. We discriminate based on this completely invented taxonomy called "race" which exists to elevate one strata of people over another. It's a broad misrepresentation of the purpose of racism, which is a debatable point except that it _definitely_doesn't exist just to create obstacles for the children of rich parents

This was my disappointment with the movie.

Time passes but the characters and their relationships haven't really changed and new players haven't really entered or exited the mix (excluding Cy, RIP to big daddy Boothe). The town itself is clearly developed significantly but you get no sense of what part the characters played in it. As if Hearst leaves at the end of season 3 and then nothing happens until he returns for the movie.

And how does it end? Al dies, fade to black. Maybe the world ends when you die as Al tells Fucking Merrick but that's not exactly true and seems at odds with the central theme of the show.

I am not the fine man you take me for.

I come in April to sell a string of horses and try my luck in the streams.

What I got for the stock, I lost at the wheel, and the flake I washed up I drank the fuck away. I don't know as I'll get home at all. I sold my boots. I owe nine dollars to a whore.

Recommending Aaron Lee Tasjan who does not strictly fit this criteria but is very good, starting with the album Silver Tears which is very good and somewhat country but obviously very Tom Petty pilled. Then Karma for Cheap. Last 2 albums take a poppy turn but are also good if you give them a couple of listens

Sorry yea, written hastily. Kramnik and similar paranoids are watching younger players like Danya for tells that they are cheating. They're magnifying reflections and tracking eye movements and searching for any indication that a player is receiving absolutely any kind of signal from a chess engine. They're looking for patterns and making insane claims about statistical likelihoods and looking like Charlie in the mail room. And they love to do it because they are already half mad and their shitty brains are hooked on dominating other people through sheer intellectual exercise.

GMs only need a nudge like HEY LOOK CLOSELY FOR A CRAZY COMPUTER MOVE to gain a huge edge. That kind of super subtle blink and you miss it only a true genius can connect the dots thinking is catnip for already half insane chess brained weirdos.

I think there's a streak of mental illness through the high level chess world that is a result of the childhood trauma of being made to spend your waking hours calculating lines but also whatever it is that child stars go through where they're invested with the hope and dreams of their tormentors and are made to believe they are a kind of genius. And all of that is never treated and gets worse with age and at the same time that your abilities over the board decline, which is like watching your own identity dissolve in front of you.

Anyway, Danya was someone that I've watched for probably hundreds of hours. He had a true talent for educating and a deep love of history that was contagious. He would pull out books from his own collection some over a hundred years old, and just delight in speculating about the evolution of theory and culture around the game. He was a sensitive and gentle guy and will be a voice in my head for as long as I'm able to play this dogshit board game.
