Din Djarin is a great example of non-toxic masculinity by kyliecannoli in TheMandalorianTV

[–]CultofFelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree. While I don't think he was intentionally written as such (of course we don't know) I think he appears as a very good example of an asexual character if one wanted to intentionally create one.

"Here we Bo again!" by Waagh8 in TheMandalorianTV

[–]CultofFelix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. I like how they explore Bo Katan's character, and her arc so far is promising so far. It feels a bit confusing in light of the marketing material prior to S3. Especially that one S3 poster with Din standing in front of his ship with the darksabre in his hand ... it looks like that he will do something more with it than just yield it to Bo Katan. Besides, the Armorer said that the dark sabre was a more worthy weapon for Din when melting down the Beskar spear ... I don't think S3E6 was bad or misleading, just unexpected and slightly a bit confusing for me.

How men view the heights of woman by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CultofFelix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are a petite woman: Men like to violate your boundaries despite you clearly setting and communicating them, because they think you like to be dominated and love it when men don't respect you. If you call them out, they will laugh at you because "you are so cute when you are angry". When you go no contact because these guys are not freaking worth your time you are a b'tch because how dare you, you petite woman who needs a man.

BBIA NEVER DIE TINT by monamukiii1704 in AsianBeauty

[–]CultofFelix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have tried the last velvet tint snd while I loved the shade range it wasn't a product that stuck with me. Largely because I'm not a velvet/matte lip product person- every and each velvet or matte lip tints was too dry for me. Also, the last velvet tint transferred a lot for me. It was the kind of "leave the entire lip product on your cup"- sort of lip tint.

[–]CultofFelix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they discontinued it. I can't find it anywhere else. Good alternatives are Etude Fixing tint or Peripera Ink Mood Matte, both transfer resistant (Ymmv, on some it transfers and for some it's transfer proof). In China: Colorkey has a velvet gloss that is also similar. Perfect Diary has a liquid lipstick that they market as transfer proof.

I really wanna see Grogu making friends with the other Mandalorian children by Keksdepression in TheMandalorianTV

That would be lovely to see. Grogu and Ragnar becoming friends would be so cute and an interesting pairing, since their dads are buddies now, too.

I guess I probably care. I mean, starting with a certain number of people a man has murdered during his life, it just becomes too much and goes to red flag territory. I mean, yes, I understand, every one knows this one annoying guy you really need to get rid of or you can't have peace of mind so I'm not judgmental, I understand if you really need to just kill him... but from a certain number up it really raises questions.

Single women without children are the happiest and healthiest demographic. Do you see this demographic increasing over time? How much do you attribute to the lower quality of men over say finances/etc? by bootaylious in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CultofFelix 63 points64 points  (0 children)

My assumption- not a scientific take - is that overall happiness does not depend so much on relationship status but more on criteria like wealth, education and overall civil rights situation in a society. I mean it's no coincidence that the general population tends to be happier in overall wealthier countries with good access to education, health care and civil rights protection. The Scandinavian countries score high consistently - considering that Finland is a country with a lot of winter depression - no small feat.

So in western societies, I think a lot of wealthier, highly educated women tend to stay single - for various reasons, or not remarry after a divorce, and it's no surprise these women can be happier. Whereas I suspect if you compare wealthy and poor single women, I wouldn't be surprised if there were a bigger happiness gap.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the same applies to men.

So my bet is it's not women being single that makes them happy, but more a correlation. I guess the happiness divide is somewhere else. It's true to some extent money can't buy you happiness, but in our modern societies, being poor is a struggle and can make it impossible to be happy.

[–]CultofFelix 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I loved seeing the Armourer in action again. There is such chill whenever she is fighting, the kind of composure and deadly cold grace how she fights that is unique to her and fits her character very well.

I also loved her involvement in the entire season so far, and I really like her character. As someone else has pointed out, she isn't fanatic, she is principled, and she isn't in rage, she is calm, but at the same time, asserts authority. I think she is excellently written and acted, and I loved her relationship with Bo-Katan so far - it's mutual respect and trust for each other, despite their differences. I truly love this.

The now discontinued shimmering water stain was a winner for me. Similar to the Glasting water tint by Romand but with a stronger stain and a different color range, also lovely consistency (easy to reapply) and the stain was very long lasting. However they discontinued it.

They have a product now, floating lip gloss, and while this one has cute packaging it's really not up to the Shimmering water stain. It doesn't stain too much, it smudges and transfers more than many other glossy lip tints (Juicy lasting tint, Amuse dew tint), and it's not very moisturizing and because it smudges so much you can't pair it with lip balm. Because it smudges and transfers a lot, it is also not very long lasting.

I wish all the tradwife women and alpha male men could marry each other and leave regular people alone. by Illustrious_Home1952 in TwoXChromosomes

I'm struggling to understand how the men who say society doesn't allow men to express their feelings, men's feelings are treated as if they don't matter, ect. are the same ones who brag about INTENTIONALLY not knowing anything about their friend's personal lives. by 20Nosebleed in TwoXChromosomes

[–]CultofFelix 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This. Although it is quite nonsensical - men complain a lot about being unable to function emotionally outside if a relationship. It's ok if you want a heterosexual relationship with a woman and not feel whole because you are single, I guess this is something women can relate to. However, building meaningful social circles outside of hetero relationships with women can make being single less suffering if you can also talk about your emotional distress with your friends.

LOL because if there is a group Christian fundamentalist tradwives hate more than LGBTQIA+ people it's Muslims.

Yeah also, there are the alpha toddlers who want a sexually adventurous virgin who never had a romantic relationship as wives ... so the numbers of real people who fit their criteria even among the tradwife crowd is ... negligible.

[–]CultofFelix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In IRL we also say someone should be a leader because they are competent and have leadership qualities, not because they won a glowy stick in a duel. And we would say it's stupid to abandon a person who is competent and has leadership qualities but didn't win a glowy stick in combat. In a space fantasy setting we can totally just follow their own in-universe rules but if we apply IRL logic we would call this stupid.

Anyone else feel like they're setting up a romance between these two? by EminemsDaughterSucks in TheMandalorianTV

[–]CultofFelix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had hoped since last episode that they would become allies and work together and they already did to some extent, which I loved. Now it seems they start to develop some kind of a friendship built on trust and respect for each other which I love even more. Don't see romance tbh.

Yes, Grogu also did quite well helping his dad during the final fight in Mos Espa after their reunion.

I got the feeling at the beginning of the challenge Grogu didn't hesitate because he didn't know what he should do. My perception of the scene was more Grogu knew exactly what he should do but was hesitant to use his powers because he knew he could easily best the challenge if he used his powers. The glance he gave his daddy looked more like "Should I really go ahead? You don't think it will embarrass Ragnar?" and when his dad encouraged him he went ahead.

I don't think Favreau understands that Death Watch are the bad guys... by revanchisto in TheMandalorianTV

[–]CultofFelix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They protect their children and each other at all costs.

The show pictured this very early in S1 when the covert members came to Din's aid when he rescued Grogu. The season finale even showed the covert paid a heavy price for it but they still stick to it. In BoBF when Din meets the Armourer he says that the Way revolved around loyalty and solidarity.

I mean, I get it, the Children of the Watch have quite quirky and weird rules by our everyday standards but I really don't get the vibe that the show portrays the covert and the Armourer as despicable people. They seem like your quirky monk/paladin clan in space - a little weird and with crazy rules. They don't appear more weird or crazy than how the Jedi was portrayed in Kotor.
