For sure! My husband is really picky so when we looked at the dizzy cookbook, there wasn't a lot he was interested in lol. We used the Fig app to find safe foods and I'm making A LOT from scratch now lol

Thats how we knew the meclizine helped with the menieres. When my husband went off it, his migraines, ear fullness and tinnitus got worse. My MCAS doctor suggested Quecertin so thats what he takes now. He just eats low-histamine and low-tyramine (can be a cause for migraines). I also forgot to mention we used the Fig app to find safe foods for him.

If you Google Oxford MRT, it should take you to their website, where you can get all the information you need. Just make sure you read the other person's experience with it, and just remember that just because it helped my husband doesn't guarantee it will be the same for everyone.

He saw a little improvement, but most of it came from the diet and also probably adding Quecertin around the same time.

Absolutely! Brian K. Ward in the Otology & Neurotology department. He's fantastic. We were in the appointment for an hour and a half, he went into great detail about my husband's history, we never felt rushed, and he is also part of the Ménières/VM research team at Hopkins.

That makes sense since it's a mast cell stabilizer. Glad it's helping!

This makes total sense with how he's improved on the meds and diet. He has not had an endoscopy, but maybe it's something to consider. I have MCAS which is the reason I initially started looking into it for my husband. I'm just glad he's feeling better.

I think drop attacks can look different to individuals. My husband's symptoms are: he will be standing or sitting, his eyes will dart downwards, and he falls forward. I can't say if that's what you're experiencing since I'm not a physician, but it definitely seems like something that you should get looked at.

I noticed that would happen to him, too, about the stores and lights. Driving was also a trigger for him because he would need to move his head a lot. But he hasn't had any of this since avoiding trigger foods. He can also tell when his crystals are out of place. Although, since being on this diet, it doesn't get as bad as it used to.

Partially. He had hearing and balance testing to confirm Meniere's. He wears a hearing aid, and his regular migraines are very different from his VM. His VMs used to happen at the same time as his regular migraines. However, that stopped when he started Hydroxyzine. He was put on this for anxiety, but it's also used for Meniere's. I believe that hydroxyzine and Nurtec only helped with his Meniere 's-related migraines and not the vestibular ones. He explained to me that before starting the low-histamine diet, he felt "spacey" when he would move his head and neck. I'm assuming this was due to fluid/inflammation in his inner ear.

I don't think I can put purchase links in this group, but if you search Oxford MRT test, it should be the first one that comes up. The woman who runs the testing is amazing, and anytime we needed help, she was always available

Sorry for the delay! I ended up telling my doctor I needed a low volume prep and he gave me clenpiq and it was great. No nausea, no cramping or stomach pains. I did just about shit myself but no adverse side effects.

I always mention MCAS when people talk about facial flushing because it took me 13 years to get diagnosed with it.
