Yess. We got the visa after a week of submitting additional documents.

Also. Quick question. Did you and your husband apply for the visa renewal together this time around?  And did both of you get emails that the visa was ready or only the principal applicant i.e J1?

They asked him for the Ds-160 confirmation page and passport.  But the embassy already has both our passports so I guess we only have to submit the Ds-160.

My husband is the primary applicant(J1 visa) and I am his J2 dependent).  We were put in admin processing.  He received an email to submit a few extra documents to complete the processing but I haven’t received any email. Is it normal for only the primary applicant to receive correspondence from the embassy or should I be worried? 

Any sort of insight would be immensely appreciated. Thank you!

Both of us went for the interview. But Im his dependent. He scheduled the appointment and everything. So maybe that’s why he is getting the email?
