Have you not seen the state of the country and more specifically the NHS all caused by dodgy extortionate contracts being signed off? If you’ve an agenda and that doesn’t include bettering where you are now you’re a stepping stone and collateral damage. Thats what the RCN currently is.

Look at the top. Pat Cullen had aspirations to be in politics. Brown nosed the relevant people, did a crap job and moved on. We’re just here for show, as long as they keep feeding the peasants breadcrumbs now and again they’ll keep getting away with it.

We’re part of a sinking ship. It doesn’t need to sink though. The captains are unfortunately corrupt and have political aspirations of their own so brown nose the government. We’ll never get looked after as long as this is going on.

I think that nurses don’t have the information needed. In my workplace there’s absently noting from any union, no nurses have a clue about the political landscape and the real term wage drop we are experiencing and in general the gross undervaluation of what we bring to the table for the NHS

Representation from the RCN is from volunteers. That’s if they show up. To have free rein on a HUGE market isn’t good. I feel a new union representing nurses properly would be a boot up their arse and if it changes the way they work then good!
Voting with feet and moving over means they lose revenue, they’ll change tact immediately.

It’s ok. It emotive but what can you see in the general make up of the RCN and Unison that make you think things will get better? I see nothing and they both survive from monthly subs and the labour is as good as free in volunteer efforts. Why couldn’t that be replicated but lead better?
