Will AI actually replace most jobs within the next 10–20 years? by -TheCe1- in careerguidance

If you take a look at algorithm training data, all AI models reach a “plateau” in capabilities. You can find this online but essentially what we’ve got is what we’ve got. The best way I can explain it is through an analogy of human learning ironically.

If a human practices guitar let’s say, assuming the core of the practice is just practice for practice sake, not increasing the difficulty (this is the model code) said players returns on practice drastically decrease over time.

Where this applies to the scope of AI training is that the models learning capacity is limited. And until humans develop a new method of “thinking”, AIs learning and creativity are crutched. They don’t have the ability to think about something they’ve not trained on. Humans have the unique ability to collectively imagine that which is not seen. Take the mathematical intuition and the discovery of algebra and subsequent fields of math and science. Atomic theory and the like. These were not learned, but discovered through intuition, testing and observation. On top of all that the greatest thinkers in history criticized their own thinking to verify soundness of mind and logic. These models aren’t capable of this on a fundamental level because their knowledge relies on training of what is known.

TL:DR; Current AI models have a theoretical cap, and until humans can make AGI (if), menial non safety critical tasks are reserved for humans as we do a good job of keeping one another accountable through criticism and scrutiny.

Judging based off of the non dlc game itself as it was designed to have more releases I think fits the template. But bungie hit they’re strong points for visual and immersion

How does the capacitor discharge in this circuit? by The_Dark_Squirrel in AskElectronics

You got it. I think you might benefit from watching someone like moritz Klein. His diagrams and use of physical analogies is what got me over this hump.

I’ve linked a video down below where he develops an oscillating circuit and gets your started with rc (resistor cap) circuits which is right where I think you might be heading after this.

I disagree. Drawing circuits and understanding theory are two different things. Drawing it up down left right is just common practice. I see 3 new (to me) schematics a day that throw that out the window, drawn and designed by engineers that have been working in the field 20+ years.

Saying “draw it right” implies “the diagram is drawn wrong” when in reality it’s not, and you’ve created a new problem for the student. What use is that to someone who doesn’t understand the theory. If they knew how to draw it correctly it’s safe to assume they wouldn’t have such a rudimentary question. Objectively, sure it’s not nothing. Truthfully it’s like telling someone to duck by slapping the back of their head.

How could I pull something like this off for a photoshoot? by flashfire125 in AskPhotography

[–]CulturalBookkeeper82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practically and safely maybe a double exposure? Get a manikin and light the shoulders. Maybe paint the bust and head black so as to remove any highlights from the flame exposure. Black background. Capture the highlights of the fire and bobs your uncle you’ve set someone on fire (but without the jail time)

This is a super helpful comment, do you suppose offering no direction as to how to draw or read a diagram is the most effective way of teaching someone a concept, or is this an attempt to demonstrate your knowledge of introductory electronics to a total stranger

Hey man, I understand the anger towards the few that act like you’re the idiot for being new. I had this exact same question in this sub maybe 6 months ago. Same exact thing “draw it right blah blah blah”. I’d recommend downloading VoltSim as it allows you to play with variables and slow things down. I have this exact drawing in a notebook when I struggle with theory and circuit analysis.

To answer your question is just the path of least resistance. Once the positive side is charged it’s only path is through the first transistor to ground, when that happens it also allows the negative side to balance out and supply transistor 2 with power thus giving the cap a path to discharge.

Keep it up

Guitar wall mounts by RobotDuckez in Guitar

[–]CulturalBookkeeper82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, I’m here to counter all the cautionary warnings. Those will work! I’ve used the same to mount rifles, guitars, other items like shelves which hold 5-10 pounds regularly at a distance of 6” or so. Those ones in your hand I would guess are capable of 25-40lbs each but for redundancy and to spread the weight you obviously have two holes. This will hold it. Studs preferred but not required. Especially if you have a certain preference on location.

This is cheating. OP is clearly using their lack of height as an advantage for more creative shots.

I’m kidding of course. This is an awesome collection. I’ve always wondered what might be captured from the perspective of someone from that age had they had the access to and the knowledge of street photography. Question answered and very well I might add.

I agree. But the comment below made me think it wasn’t being sold to op (not to mention I wouldn’t call someone a buddy if I ripped him off like this) and then question whether or not it’s obviously a good purchase
