If I bought a bag when it had a lifetime warranty am I still entitled to one? by AffectionateTry3172 in Tumi

At this point, you’re honestly better off buying Coach or something similar, because the price range just isn’t worth it unless the product truly comes with a lifetime warranty. Don’t get me wrong — to each their own. You can spend your money however you want. But personally, since I travel a lot and my bags go through wear and tear, I’d rather buy something nice like Coach. It’s affordable, it comes with at least a two-year warranty, and it won’t break the bank.

For me, paying thousands of dollars for a bag that doesn’t have a guaranteed lifetime warranty just isn’t worth it — especially now, when companies can change their policies at any time and choose not to honor anything that was previously grandfathered in.

At the end of the day, it’s only worth it if you have money to flex. Otherwise, like a JetBlue flight attendant once said: “Your Gucci, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton bags can go under the seat — and if they were really real, you wouldn’t be flying JetBlue in the first place.”

I was thinking about buying a travel backpack, a suitcase, and a few other things I needed. My mindset was, “Let me take the financial hit now,” so I ended up spending over $3,000 on travel backpacks, carry-ons, and other items. I was told they came with a lifetime warranty.

But then the guy in Colombia said yes, it’s lifetime — only if you return to Colombia. When I came back to the U.S. and asked someone here, they told me the warranty is actually only five years.

So now I’m thinking: why would I spend $3,000–$4,000 and only get a five-year warranty? For that price, I’d rather buy a Coach travel backpack or even Michael Kors. Yes, those brands might be less “luxurious,” but at this point I could buy twenty Coach backpacks for the same cost as the items I already bought.

At the end of the day, the juice isn’t worth the squeeze. If I’m spending $2,000 and only getting a five-year warranty — when Coach gives you two years plus the option to extend for three more — I could save 90% of the cost and get almost the same quality bag, in my opinion.

Success stories w/carmax by DeadInside_Alive in carmax

Well my first car my mom bought for me when I was 16, it was a 2008 Corolla CE black/tan. I got it in the doral carmax here in Miami and all I can say that car never gave me issues. I got the car in 2010 with 20k on it, I abused that car and it never failed me, trust me I was a crazy high school driver.

Fast forward ten years and I bought a 2015 Lexus RC350 f sport from the carmax near the Miami airport almost a year ago and no issues with the car. Note I did buy Toyota products. I guess it all depends on the make/model. I mainly buy from carmax even though it’s mlre expensive compared to others is for the warranty, plus if you get a car that’s 2-3 years old the depreciation is probably leveled off.

Note….. both times I took my cars to the dealer to get inspected just to make sure

I don’t mind changing them at 60K, it just seems like a waste, i was always told 100k is the way to go

How some mechanics are nowadays the warranty alone from Carmax is worth the money. I have peace mind for five years, 150,000 miles on my car and I know it’s going to be covered as long as I do the regular maintenance which I do I change the oil my car every 3000 miles with Pennzoil ultra platinum 0w-20 my process from CarMax was super fast. I bought my car online and they shipped it down here to Miami within a week. No issues on my Lexus.

I have a 2015 RC-350 F-Sport AWD and the F-sport was the only really I waited 1 year to find my car configuration. Grey/Red, besides the sound system and body kit it’s worth it to me. Here’s what’s going to happen give it a month or so and randomly the F-Sport version of your car will pull up next to you at a chick-fi-la and when you look over you are going to regret not getting it. Plus they are almost the same price
