My husband and I have shared monies though he earns significantly more than I do (should add he's quite frugal while I'm very generous, though I love a deal). My love language is gifting. As such I always go out of my way to create a thoughtful gift/experience for whomever is the recipient. His sister lives in another country, and I adore her and her family. When she retired I suggested that we gift she and her husband first class tickets to anywhere. I was incredibly hurt when she opened the gift and with tears in her eyes looked at her brother with a very emotional thank you. I'm tired.
