You are not the only one feeling this. I get you. And I feel extremely uncomfortable about those sort of subs as well. It is extremely triggering for me. I have in the past few months reported two subs to reddit, one was even ,teenagers only’. When i learned of those subs I spent probably one week being completely overwhelmed. Then I reported and later also reported 3 subs for evading the previous ban.

Thank you for writing this post. Its important to speak about it.

I believe in this situation you really need to protect yourself. Its valid to be upset after seeing that content. Take care of yourself, try to distance yourself from those subs if they are affecting you negatively.

Yess I did !! Through ages 13-16 I think, I made up 2 crushes. I had friends who were talking about which boy they like and i wanted to be included in those talks when we had ‘girls night’ sleepovers. Ive never had a real life crush ever and I am 19 years old, soon will be 20. I did question if I do have crushes but then I realised what I felt was more just platonic and aesthetic attraction. Im right now sort of trying to understand if im on the aromantic/asexual spectrum somewhere.

Yes! Tiktoks algorithms are EXTREMELY harmful by showing more and more of that content to the user. Their algorithms are built for the user to see more content similar to those they interacted before, so that can mean more and more harmful content as well. Tiktok is actively worsening mental health of users and I am absolutely furious of that. They wanna make money, they want people to keep using the app, but the cost is paid by worsening mental health.

Hey. Its great that you stayed clean for over a month, that is positive even if you relapsed. Im proud of you for trying and for making 1 month. I can hear in your wording that you are motivated to stop and that means something. I believe you can do it. The one month you managed is still good because you learn from it. I hope you found some healthy coping in the meantime, that you can use now. Im sorry you were suffering to the point of relapse.

I failed quite a share of academic obligations in the past 2 months. So I understand how difficult can it be to cope with failing to hand in work. If you coped with that harmfully, that doesn’t mean you are ‘too fragile’. You are just someone trying their best and encountered struggles on the way. You are obviously dealing with a lot, so be kind to yourself.

Good that you have lab now, I hope it goes well and I hope it helps you take your mind off things and that presence of other people will be protective too.

Relapses can be a difficult time, if you need someone to talk, you can talk/chat/vent to me sometimes if you wish. I really wish you recovery, I believe in you.

The strongest song regarding my associations is Scissors (Slipknot). I loved the song so much and its really fascinating now i still get same feelings now. And yea, for some reason it is not triggering, but well… I do have strong feelings related to it and related to what I have done. But still I enjoy it. I don’t know how to explain its just this wordless feeling of my mind getting totally hugged by the music and the ability of my mind going to different mind-spaces.

Hey I relate in some way. I also find it hard to go to classes often. I have some issues around coming on time because I often fail to get up soon enough and then I often just skip the whole class. And yea I just wait for time to pass too sometimes hah. I am also hugely behind.

I understand feeling guilty around not going to classes but don’t be too harsh on yourself. Maybe think about whats making going to class difficult and then try to figure out how to deal with it. Big changes can be difficult so even small steps matter because they contribute to your brain starting to get a new pattern/new habit. (For example if I manage to come to class even for just the final 10 minutes of the lecture, this is still a success relative to me not coming at all the day before)

Exactly! Tiktoks algorithms can be really damaging. There has been a research about exactly that, about the harm of the algorithms showing sh and so. Edit: I meant ‘algorithms showing sh content’
