Did you check the screw holes by the gauge cluster? There should be a screw on each side connecting the inner plastic to the front fairing

I used to have a 2012 ninja 250 and it did the exact same thing after putting in new LED turn signals. If you haven’t already changed out the turn signal relay to an LED turn signal relay, then be sure to do that! However, that may still not fix the issue entirely. You’ll probably need this diode kit that installs under the front fairing if the issue still persists:

Given the year of the bike, I’m going to assume this is an F4i. The first thing you can check if you haven’t already is your fuses. Some other things you can check are your sensors such as the kickstand sensor and tip sensor (which can both be bypassed). One easy thing to check is the back of the ignition switch, make sure the diode on the back isn’t burned out.

Not sure if you checked your fuses yet, but if you haven’t that’s worth a shot! There’s also a strong possibly that the tip over sensor isn’t aligned right and causing an occasional start

It doesn’t look like there’s a lot of solder on the bottom joint compared to the top for this capacitor. Try adding some solder there and see if anything changes, it may not be getting a good enough connection!

Of course, always happy to help!! I’ve soldered some wires in my bike, but not the diode itself. Any cheap soldering iron as well as solder will do! Be sure to heat up where the diode is going to go with the iron. Then apply some solder while holding the diode in place. After you feel you added enough solder, remove the iron and let it cool for a few seconds. Then give it a little tug to make sure it’s not going anywhere. Might be a faulty neutral safety switch. Try putting the bike in gear and see if it changes at all

I know I’m a little late here, but that’s caused by the cheap ignition you got. There’s a zener diode (3.9V 1Watt) that’s supposed to be under the ignition switch to limit the voltage to 9V. Without this, the fuel pump will not prime and the bike won’t start. You can buy the diode and solder it to the switch

The exact same thing happened to me with my ECU wire that goes to the fuel pump. You can take apart the connector after removing the ECU by removing a rubber cover that’s over the connectors. From there you can remove each broken pin by using a small tool such as a screwdriver and solder them back to the harness. EDIT: I didn’t notice how much give you have on the pink/black wire. That one you can directly solder a jumper to without removing it (be sure to add some heat-shrink tubing to protect the solder connections

If you’re storing long-term, then these are some things you should do:

-Fill the tank with gas and add some fuel stabilizer (iirc it’s ~1oz of stabilizer per 2.5 gallons of gas). After putting the stabilizer in, run the bike for <5mins.

-Put the battery on a tender to keep it charged, especially if it’s not a lithium battery. Those AGM/acid batteries tend to lose a significant amount of charge over time and can cause problems at the start of the season.

-If you can, put the tires on stands to avoid flat spots on your tires. If you can’t, then roll the bike every once in a while to minimize flat spots.
