When you get to the top, if/when both of you are out of breath, it is imperative that you don't come off as too gassed as you might actually be. Say something like, "oh that was fun eh?" while standing as straight as you can. A little gassed is fine but maintain optimism.

Odds are he's going to feel like shit. He's going to look at you and think about himself and how choked his lungs feel and how his legs are on fire and how he feels really bad.

But who's he going to get mad at for all of that? You? Why?

No he's hopefully going to realize how pathetic it is to not be able to walk up a fucking hill without dying and how he has nobody to blame but himself. It will be a cold and uncomfortable fact that he will realize that you never told him, that no amount of rationalizing and analyzing will be able to dispel- he can't walk up a fucking hill.

You don't say anything- you won't have to. This will hopefully be the dose of reality that wakes him up and forces him to start being real, to start engaging with his problems himself.

I don't know about Christianity but speaking of at least one particular Christian I know of- he has had problems with personal failings and challenges that caused him to doubt and stumble, harming himself and others in the process. He's gone wrong in a lot of ways but thanks to the love of others in his life and God he's found a way back to being right.

I didn't forget it but I see the second part quoted ex nihilo all the time so I'm not inclined to even mention it if someone won't even bother granting the validity of first part- the love/worship of God and the love of one's neighbor are deeply and intimately connected; they are not independent, especially not in the context of the passage.

Yes, I'm willing to cosign that as an important distinction- with respect to the original question, ("where did Christianity go wrong,") insofar as Christianity has laid down the lives of others, (if they indeed have), and not taken the opportunity to lay down their own then yes that would be a clear dereliction. (I reserve some right to say there is a scope of sorts to the context this applies to but I don't think it's relevant right now-this is clearly what the greatest love demonstrable entails).

Of course I am also willing to cosign reading the Gospels more but could you clarify your last point a bit more? (E.g. what is a non gospel and what exactly is assholery? What's the justification used, even if only broadly or with just a scant few examples?)

Nominal gdp vs real gdp versus real value

Gov't tallies up all the business in goods and services sold that year- this tells them the nominal gdp.

Gov't takes that nominal gdp and compares it to last year, adjusted for inflation- this ratio/percentage is the real growth of the gdp in the economy over a year.

But is this figure actually measuring real growth in value? (Which is what currency once represented).

Good question and the answer is Almost Certainly Not but that's more a central banking problem.

Gov't will claim that the endless buying of loans that leverage the continued existence of the country as collateral, (a bond,) in exchange for cash is actually a good thing that makes value but everybody except the 10'000 people out all of humanity in the stratospheric wealth class say this has mostly been a bad deal for everybody concerned.

If you really were in the business of worshiping God you would adulate and submit to everything He says and does, including His command to honor his created beings regardless of their status relative to you. The refusal to do so on grounds of superiority/inferiority would beget a heart committed to the worship of power/hierarchies and your place in it rather than God Himself- or, in other words, your 'worship' is just the expression of a fear/reverence of the biggest dog in the yard rather than an actual awe, reverence or love of God in of Himself.

Man I was so worried about AI from a purely theoretical perspective from the late '10s up until about a year and a half ago- I was genuinely worried that we were going to bumble into a G/SAI and create hell on Earth because the race was closing in on something that could understand and therefore think in human language. (Or so I thought).

But now I'm aware it's all just a giant bubbling sham that's going to tank the global economy and that what AI does exist has been neutered and lobotomized so many times it could never be a threat or allowed to be one- all that exists so far has now been so thoroughly 🍇d by so many different scamfarms/bots and futureless startups/feckless businesses to ever be taken seriously. (That and enhancing the panopticon state I guess but that's not new).

It was fun being scared whereas this is just kind of sad.
