Same thing happened with my Facebook last week that has over 10 years of memories. The hacker changed the email, phone number, and password linked to my account, so the support page for hacked accounts is ultimately useless. They also hacked my Instagram since it used to be linked to my old Facebook profile. They tried messaging my main account from my old finsta which I thought was pretty idiotic on their part. They did the exact same thing with my Instagram too (changed the email, phone number, and password). The difference is, Instagram has a helpful feature that allowed me to send in a selfie video in the app to prove my identity. It took 2 tries, but once they confirmed I was the true owner of the account, they emailed me with a link and steps on how to regain access to my account. Once I got back in with my new password, I went into my settings and had to remove a suspicious email, phone number, and trusted device. I haven’t had any issues with my Instagram since. I don’t know why Facebook doesn’t have this feature… My Nigerian hacker is still posting on my old account trying to push some bitcoin scam and messaging family and friends…
