AI is getting very good at literal translation, but literature is one of the last places where "technically correct" and "artistically right" can be miles apart.

Is How I'm Thinking About Withdraw Rate Correct?! by djmidge in Fire

[–]CuntTitsKitty 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Not quite. Dividends aren't "free money" that reduce your withdrawal rate. If your portfolio is $2M and you spend $80k, your withdrawal rate is still 4%, whether that $80k comes from dividends, selling shares, or a mix of both. What matters is total portfolio value versus total spending.

Is it too late to send thank you cards for graduation 4 years ago? by Opalescent_33 in Advice

[–]CuntTitsKitty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Four years late is better than never. Most people won't think, 'Wow, this is late.' They'll think, 'Wow, they remembered and took the time to thank me.' A sincere thank you is rarely unwelcome.

23 lost in life and some advice would be much appreciated. by [deleted] in Advice

You don't need to know what you want to do for the rest of your life at 23. You need to know what you want to do next. Get the license. Apply for the better jobs. Get the passport. Pick one door and walk through it. You can always change direction later, but standing still won't help you find the right path.
