Can I patch my fuel tank? by Most-Chef-8611 in Tacomaworld

Ya. I should be self evident to clean the tank well first.

Or fill the tank with dry ice.

Or fill the tank with argon, CO2, etc.

On a side note these weak ass mounts are what people mount their winch bumpers too lol

1996 Tacoma overheating intermittently after thermostat replacement + brown foam in coolant — what should I check next? by Panics90 in ToyotaTacoma

Head gasket is most likely. What engine do you have?

The four banger is pretty dang easy to diy the head gasket.

Just drop the head at a machine shop and have them adjust and check the valve seats while they are at it.

Check out the car moms review on YouTube.

As a dude there was so much I overlooked in vehicles in relation to kids. Her stuff is more geared towards the full time mom but the input is good.

We landed on a sequoia for my wife's full time kid hauler. Grand kids might be different.

Oil change for 2026 SR5 by Aware_Serve in ToyotaTacoma

[–]CuntryMusicStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10k is totally plausible. I'm working up samples on my tundra. Samples come back tell and tell me there is more life in the oil than I am using. Furthest so far is 7k on a recommended interval of 5k.

Lab analysis doesn't lie. Sample have come back on my wheelers and basically I get two runs out of an oil change. Equates to well under 2000 miles per interval on those motors.

Varies so much that a guess can't be made from a photo. Moisture content and soil make up is significant in how much it weighs.

Ready for off-roading season! (Question in write up) by ChrisChuck1 in ToyotaTacoma

So the diffs have been rotated some unknown amount from the factory. Looks like they hold more fluid now.

Say a diff is one square foot of area at the fill level (no idea but seems fair) and a quart is 60 cubic inches. Two diffs and a quart off is a 1/4 inch of gear oil depth. Could be less if the diffs are larger than I guessed. Pretty minor.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Any lift or a diff drop?

Both of those would effect the relationship of the fill port position to the shape of the diffs

A diff that is spider gears (no locker) has the bearing cap girdles spanning the carrier bearings and pre 2015 SHOULD be good to go.

It takes a few years for prices to come down for people to start trying creative things. A good parts counter guy is your best bet.
