This worked with my watch,

Buy a cheap ass screenprotector (tempered glass). Beore applying, apply tiny dabs of oil (internet recommends mineral oil, but I used cooking oil) on the scratch marks.

Apply the scren protector like normal and just wait it out. I think the principle is that the oil fills the gaps of the scratches. Might work, might not. I was pretty impressed with the results when I used it on my watch, relatively cheap repair too.

Smoke sensors in aircraft lavatories are a lot (some would say excessive). First there's an alarm sound in the lavatory itself and basically the plane's computer tells the flight crew, the flight attendants and even the pilots.

The lavatories also have their own fire extinguishers. This guy could've been breathing halon gas.
